This hotel is nowhere near the airport! It cost us 60 Euros from the terminal to get to the hotel then another 40 euros back to the airport, which was considerably more than the room itself. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was fine for what we needed given we had missed our flight and just needed a bed. Very unhappy about the distance though and the overall cost this came to including the taxi fare. This cannot be marketed as an airport hotel when its a 15-20 minute (and exorbitant variable taxi fare) from the airport.

Lovely place. Very comfortable and clean. Staff gave a very warm welcome and were helpful to answer the questions we had. Some members had breakfast which was good, and there was a McDonald's locally too. Would definitely recommend for the price.

This was definitely not what I expected when making the reservation. This hotel was not located anywhere near the airport and was actually located with two other hotels in the middle of a field. When you first drive to the location, you have the impression as though the hotel were abandoned (due to the overgrown grass and lack of a proper parking gate). I enjoyed the most when I attempted to use the elevator and had pressed the button 40 times over a period of 20 minutes, only to then use the steps out of necessity. When I questioned the employee at the checkout desk, he simply shrugged his shoulders and said that it had broken at some point the previous night and couldn’t be fixed until the day later. This place seems to have so many problems that the staff is completely used to them. The owner needs to either invest some money and effort here, or find a new way to make a living. Totally awful.

AVOID MERCURE DÜSSELDORF --------------------------------------------------- The hotel looks and feels like old Soviet era housing block. The corridors were dirty, dark and stank. The whole ambient of the hotel is really off-putting and doesn't merit 4-star, at as it is advertised on Expedia. Much of the hotel is carpeted. Carpets in the corridors are really off-putting and are smelly. Carpet in the room was dirty, dark and smelly. During my entire stay of 2 days and 2 nights, I did not see a single cleaner working in the hotel lobby, reception, corridors or in rooms - NO cleaners at all. Hotel is totally in the middle of nowhere. Choose this hotel only if you are stuck and need to stay only one or two nights. I was surprised to find and IBIS hotel, which is next to Mercure, offering much better rate than Mercure hotel. The hotel description on Expedia promised a lot but delivered only a little.  When I was checking out, the receptionist, a young black man, was unfriendly and deliberately tried to put me down because I was trying to speak in German and my German was not good enough. I could have spoken English, which is something I normally do do but I speak reasonably good German and decided to practice my German.

Great little hotel - about 20 min drive from Airport. Hotel and facilities ok for a short stay. However I found the room very dark if you're planning on working. Friendly staff and good kitchen.

This place is horrible. There were patches of sticky dry urine from the previous guest all over the bathroom floor. The shower head wouldn't stay in place unless I held it with one hand. The WiFi was almost non existent, kept dropping, and wasn't strong enough for a Skype call. The waitress at dinner looked like she was at a funeral. The decoration in the hallways is from 1974. Overpriced and dreadful.

Misleading
Not an airport hotel. The shuttle from the airport takes 15 minutes - and if you want to take it back to the airport, it's chargeable. Forgot how much, but it was only £5 difference to the taxi fare and included a 30 minute wait if you don't book the time the day before. Internet barely worked. Restaurant is nice enough, but you're stuck with it - nothing else in walking distance. No shops in walking distance either, and snacks/drinks in the hotel are overpriced. Really spikes up the cost. Room itself was nice and clean, but I booked this to break up a long journey, specifically because I expect an airport hotel to be AT THE AIRPORT. Not 15 minutes drive away. Nearly every guest I spoke to was in the same boat.

Clean, nice hotel but too far from airport
Great clean hotel as you would expect from the Mercury. The difficulty is the fact that it is 15 minutes from the airport so the name of the hotel is very incorrect. There is a shuttle bus but it is 12 EUR per person. A taxi is around 30-35 EUR each way. Could be false economy to paying a higher cost for a hotel at the airport

The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. it was a typical European breakfast buffet with some hot items and cold items. The service is good as well. I will stay here on business again when I come back to town.

Great Dusseldorf airport location and shuttle.
I choose this hotel because of its nearness to the Dusseldorf airport, it's 12 euro per person shuttle to the airport and because it accepts Hotels.com rewards. Very good checking in service, fast with no problem. Complimentary juices and snack offered in the lobby. The lighting in the room, except for the bathroom, is inadequate. The WiFi signal in my room was poor working sometimes, and not most of the time. Not much eating options nearby, so ate dinner in the pricey, but nice restaurant. Service was slow for a Monday evening, my guests complained of the waiting. The parking lot entrance is protected by a automatic arm, so non-residents may have to pay to park. The front desk readily gave a free parking voucher for my relatives and friends who visited us at the hotel. The shuttle to the airport was a quick-15 minutes, although it was a couple of minutes late.

there is no pool and nothing for kids to do
I booked this hotel for two reasons: the Expedia reviews said there was a pool -- which had been filled in some time ago already -- and that there were things for kids to do -- not true either. Had I known that I was going to incur a massive taxi bill to get to the hotel in rush hour traffic only to stay in a place that offered less than a hotel closer to the airport and to restaurants and things for kids to do, I would NEVER have booked it. A really disappointing experience thanks to outdated information on the place.

Will never go back.
No TV signal all through the weekend and the ventilation system was not working. Very warm all through my stay. Breakfast for a charge of €16 was a joke with flies all around the food raising cause for concern. Apparently the management have no regards to health and safety in regards to food management. Overall I didn’t enjoy my stay at all and it’s one to avoid in my view. What a disgrace to the Mercure brand and the Accor Hotel group.

Our technician made anything he could but at the end it was not possible without any professional support. I can absolutely understand your point in terms of flies over the food. Actually most of our guests appreciate these beds very much and it is a pity it doesn’t meet your expectation. Anyway, such things are very individual. OK for business trip
Stayed only for a night, though not very close to the airport, but also not far. Took 15 minutes by a cab and shuttle service is avalible for a reasonable charge but there is wair for around 20 minutes. So make a provision for this time. As reached Dusseldorf in the evening didn't try the public transport. Most pleasing was kettle in the room for morning tea. Didn't had breakfast so can't comment on that.

Unfortunatly we have only one driver who drives from and to the airport, it could be that you missed our driver as you wanted to use our shuttle service. Like you said, our hotel is 15 minutes away from the airport and if the driver is already on his way to our hotel, it take more time till he arrives back to the airport. But the most time he is waiting at the Terminal to pick up our guests. We hope to welcome you again soon and hopefully you can try for the next time our breakfast, its extensive and delicious! Amazing place to stay over a night when you are on a road. Very quiet and tranquill, horses on the fields around.

€30 to €40 in a taxi from airport
Hotel itself is superb, but dont be fooled into thinking it is close to the airport, It cost me €40 in a taxi to get there, €30 to get back to airport

Awful hotel in Düsseldorf
Don’t waste your time or money at this dump. No internet was just the start. It took us forever to get from the airport to the “Airport” Hotel. Not convenient in the least. Restaurant is adequate. Breakfast is the one shining star at this place. Shower pressure and temperature was another plus, but couldn’t recommend this property to anyone especially for the 300.00 price tag per night. Stay away.

Regarding the Wifi, we are sorry that it was not available on your stay. We had a technical problem that we could not solve our self. That’s why we used a LTE Router in the lobby, so that our guest could work or just surf in the internet. I am sorry that you did not feel that we represent value for money. We can understand your displeasure regarding the prices of the fair very well. In fact, due to the very large demand during the big fairs, room rates are rising. But we want to thank you for your comment regarding the Restaurant and the Breakfast, it is good to hear that at least our food could convince you. Good hotel for business stop
Hotel mostly OK, biggest issue is no AC in the rooms Restaurant good, but seems expensive, has a captive customer base, nothing else close by, if you don't have a car All in all though, not too bad a stay
