“Five star stay for a three star price”

Close to downtown and the lake walk, it doesn't get much better. High end finishes in the room and overall a great place to stay. We'll be back!

“A little escape”

Wonderful view of Lake Superior from our room's balcony. Nice room with a fireplace and whirlpool. We enjoyed warming up by the fireplace with a nice glass of wine. The front desk staff suggested great things to do in the area. We enjoyed tubing and a day at Spirit Mountain, followed by a dinner at Black Woods. The only thing I would suggest is to get the Best Available Rate Lakeside 1 Bdrm, King, Ss, Balcony, Kitchenette or Best Available Rate Lakeside 1 Bedroom 1 King Bed or Q, Ss, Full Kitch, Balcony. Because of the location of the other two rooms you can hear the doors closing. But its not disruptive enough to stay somewhere else. Great place for the price!

“Need more attention to detail !”

We had been looking forward to staying at Beacon Pointe, we typically stay in Canal Park. The room was nice with a great view of the lake,and the resort was peaceful. The staff were very proffessional and welcoming. Unfortunately, the guests above us overflowed the tub both nights, resulting in the ceiling leaking water on our bathroom floor and carpet. Our bed had a cap from a bottle tucked between the mattress and pad! Also the continental breakfast was very disappointing. Dining area was makeshift-the rolls were frozen and cold- and the bagels were dry and hard. No milk for cereal, coffee was warm. Our suggestion is to post a notice as to how to use the whirlpools in the room, upgrade the breakfast, add some fresh fruit, good baked goods, etc. or just forget about it entirely!

“We won't be back”

We specifically reserved a king size suite and we were "upgraded" to a queen size condo. The room was very nice, a good size livingroom area with a huge window facing the lake and a full size kitchen, but the bedroom was in the front of the condo and there were no windows so it was dark and dingy and the bed was too small for us. We tried sleeping on the queen size couch in the living room so we could have the light and the view, but the pull out couch mattress was like sleeping on pop cans, you could see every spring in the mattress. Even though the kitchen was nice, we had no desire to cook so this was not a bonus for us. There was also a nice whirlpool spa and fancy shower in the bathroom, but the water temperature was only warm and the water pressure was poor, so we could only take quick showers and could not use the spa....by the time it filled up it was cold. The deck was pie shaped and could only fit two small chairs. If we had been traveling with another couple this deck would have been useless. The continental breakfast was bagels, english muffins, dry cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and a just barely defrosted pastry.
