Very nice buffet breakfast, attractive lobby and rooms for the price, but awful view out the window of junky backyards close by. Needs a fence or trees.

such a disappointment
Posted Jan 5, 2013
Pros: room was very large
Cons: no elevator for those of us with health issues, mediocre continental breakfast
Location: good location
getting old and worn down. no elevator for those of us with health issues. people smoking in the door entryways. not very good continental breakfast, ate somewhere else in Superior. there are other places in Superior that may be more expensive but the price would be worth it.

Good pancakes
Posted Jan 28, 2012
Pros: Pancake machine
Location: Easy to access.
We would have liked an "easy" chair (there were two desk chairs). The pancake machine was something new and made excellent pancakes.

Great place to stay if you don't expect a pool...
Posted Jan 23, 2012
Pros: How clean the room was - cleanest I've stayed in - in a long time!
Cons: The pool was closed and we weren't notified sooner.
Location: Right off the highway, but never heard traffic. Nice facility
The rooms were exceptionally clean! The only problem we had was the pool was closed, and had been closed for more than a month - we should have been told that when we made the reservation - my kids wanted to stay where we could swim. The front desk clerk said he would hold the room if we wanted to find something else - knowing full well that there were no other hotel options in Superior or Duluth - insulting at best. All other staff was very polite and friendly! If you want to stay at a very clean hotel and don't care about the pool, then this is certainly the place to be. If you want the pool, I would call first and make sure it's an option - they're certainly not going to call you and be honest.

Fantastic room!!

I reserved a discounted room through an online general reservation service at the Superior Best Western Bay Walk Inn in hopes of spending some time in the hot tub/pool area. When I arrived, they informed me the pool area was undergoing reconstruction. I was disappointed, but not upset. They were extremely nice--the manager and desk person talked quietly for a few moments and then they put me in a king suite with whirlpool and kitchenette at the same price. It was wonderful!! I had a wonderful evening watching tv from my whirlpool and their breakfast the next morning was very good. Thanks, Bay Walk Inn, for making my stay so great!

Location: Duluth is just 7 miles away.
I do have to say I was disappointed with my experience at this hotel. Upon check in I was informed our room was on the second floor... when I inquired about the an elevator I was told they did not have one???? When I went to our room it was the next to the last room at the end of the hallway. I moved my car closer to the other entrance. At this time I noticed the door latched was taped open so it would not lock. Immediately through the entrance was the stairs, this too was unsecured, I wen to the front desk to inform the clerk and was informed that the door does not and has not locked. I was SHOCKED! There was not even a security camera. I told the clerk I was not comfortable with that as a women traveling alone with her daughter. Anyone from the street could walk in and wander the hotel, but he insured me they have never had an incident. This did not ease my mind. I have to admit I removed the tape from the latch and the clerk was indeed correct the door did not lock at all! The pool area was nice and the beds were comfortable, the chair in our room had some kind of stain on it that was less than inviting. I would not personally recommend this hotel to anyone I know.
