“Nice rooms, comfortable beds & great view”

Went to this hotel for a girls' weekend. The rooms were very nice and we were lucky enough to get rooms with a view of Lake Superior and Canal Park. The location was great. Within walking distance of Fitger's and there is also a hotel shuttle that we used when we went out for the evening. The staff was very pleasant. Check in was extremely slow, but I felt more sorry for the line behind me since I was not in a hurry. Sound does travel in the hallways which can be a problem when there are hockey kids or teenage danceline girls, but it is tolerable. Unfortunately the hot tub was out of commission because kids had put soap in it so they had to drain it. Cannot blame the hotel for that. Did not get a chance to eat in the restaurant, but we did visit the bar for a drink before dinner and we were very happy to have hit happy hour. Good prices and a friendly bartender. Would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations

Fitger's Mall is great for browsing, Canal Park is beautiful in the summer and Bentleyville (city of lights) is there in December.

Events and shows

The comedy show at Dubh Linn was good. The drinks were rather expensive, but the staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Duluth Sheraton”

Downtown location is good, but parking is inconvenient. The main street in front of the hotel is dug up for new storm drain installations April 2011. Hotel room windows do not open. A/C system was a bit noisy. Nice bathrooma and good bed. Excellent food in the restaurant - they have a good Chef. Staff very courteous

“WILL stay here again”

We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Duluth Hotel very much and plan to make this our hotel of choice when we visit in the future. The rates were competitive and the hotel and room were very attractive and comfortable. The only thing that would have made it better would have been "continental breakfast".

“Nice rooms, noisy hallways”

This was our second stay at the Sheraton in Duluth. Very nice rooms. Excellent service. The pool water is a little funky - instead of using chlorine, they combine two ingredients (salt and something else) to make the water chlorinated. So basically the water is salty. Room to room you can't hear your neighbors but sounds from the hallway are amplified. Classy hotel, just a few little flaws. We would likely stay there again.

Area recommendations

Easy walking access to Duluth Convention Center. About 2 block walk outside, then through skyways to DECC.

“Nice New Hotel”

The only thing that is inconvenient is the parking. It is quite a walk from the parking ramp to the hotel. However, they do let you park in front to unload your vehicle. The other thing that we were not that fond of was the way they did their bathrooms. No lock on the bathroom doors. They are a french style so they actually have a gap in them and we didn't feel like the bathroom was very private. For a new hotel it also wasn't very sound proof. It was quite noisy in the halls. On a positive side we have a beautiful view of Lake Superior, they have a really nice workout room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very nice.

“Nice surprise!”

“One of the Better Hotels in Duluth”

Hotel was very nice. Connection between parking ramp and hotel is fairly long and confusing. Unload your luggage at the front of the hotel and then park. Everything else was fine. However, the confusion regarding my reservation was problematic. Of course, the hotel blamed Expedia and said that this happens frequently. My experience with Expedia has been exceptional. This was the first time that I have ever encountered a problem.

“Great place to stay!”

Very nice hotel and the lobby bar was an added plus. Will have to try out the amenities next time. Parking was a little out of the way, but not too bad once you figured it out. Good downtown location and less expensive than the lake front hotels. Will definately stay there again.
