““A Hidden Gem””
It seems that this B & B has gotten little attention from foreigner travelers and they are missing a wonderful experience. In my search for a one night stay in the Dumfries area I just happen to come across the Whitecroft Mansion in my search. The reviews were good but I had little idea how lucky it would be for us. This off the beaten track B & B has wonderful rooms, great food and good service. We didn't get to meet the owner, Steven, until the following morning but the minute we did he offered to show us around the 9 room facility. The reason we wanted to be in the Dumfries area was to visit historic sites of Robert Burns. Little did we know that Robert Burns had stayed in one of the rooms. You will need your Sat Nav to find the place as you travel the back roads of Scotland but you won't regret the experience. Each room is special ,,,we stayed in the Dalton View room. Did I tell you what a fabulous chef Steven is? Enjoy!
