This place was TERRIBLE - Dogs barking all night and staff refused to call police. Front desk staff was super rude with Lucci throwing the keys at me instead of handing them over. Do not stay here.

Florence is nice, hotel needs improvement.
Pros: Centrally located. Good maid service. Morning staff was very helpfull. Cons: Very warm room. Informed front desk. We were told to open the windows because the AC was closed. Unfortunately, it was noisy and a swarm of mosquitos entered and stung us continously. Pillows were very unconfortably thin and hard. We asked for more pillows but were told to use the ones in the closet, which were also very bad.

We are really sorry about that !As we explained, in November usually it is very cold and for that air condition is off. The same for the mosquitos, it is very strange that there are mosquitos in this period, but the temperature was very strange.We hope to meet you again and maybe it will be better that this stay !

I’ve stayed at many hotels across Italy and spent good money on this one because of the rating. Dirty with extremely uncomfortable mattresses. My VIP was a beautiful bottle of wine with two disgustingly dirty wine glasses. Location is 10/10 but the hotel my sister stayed at down the street was clean and much better and cheaper.

I believe some of the one star reviews are from a mismatched expectation and experience, due largely to the hotel advertising rooms that don’t match all of their offerings. Hopefully the hotel clarifies their room differences so guests will not be disappointed by the rooms, as personally I wouldn’t have paid the premium price here to stay in a classic room. I’ll try to share all my facts so that if you book you can best prepare for a great stay . Very cordial and polite staff who do their best to accommodate you, but you may be very unhappy if you end up booked in a nonrenovated room and there is no chance to change. It is important to know that the majority of photos (hardwood floors, white comforters, walk in showers) are of their newly renovated “modern” rooms, but you may land in a “classic” room instead. I recommend contacting the hotel in advance to confirm room assignment if this matters to you. The classic rooms are not renovated- tubs, carpet, yellow covers. We were initially checked into a “classic” and the ac did not work well to control the humidity. when I realized at 1130 pm there was NO blanket, the gentleman manning the front desk empathized with me but could not (would not?) leave his post to get a blanket. Between the damp, the cold, and the carpet, we woke up with runny noses and allergies. I look for hotels with hard floors for this reason. Great location in piazza novella, close to the train station. The rooms were spacious, the hotel was dated but beautiful. The only complaint we have was the AC in our room and throughout the hotel. The air was stagnant and muggy. Overall, Florence was beautiful!!

Hotel Roma is located in a really good spot of Florence if you don't plan on staying in the city very long. I was right next to a lot of public transportation, attractions, and everything was within walking distance. The desk staff was really good, the ladies helped my wife and I find a place to dine for the night as well as make reservations for us. All of the recommendations were great and really made our trip better. However, the beds were relatively hard, and uncomfortable, there was no air conditioning for the most part or the air circulation was poor. We had to open the windows up at night to let some cool air in, we were traveling in April so not really during the hotter months. We also could hear a lot of the noise coming from the streets. Overall, the experience at Hotel Roma was good and the only thing that really prevented me from giving this place a better review were the two hard beds.

Quirky charm, great service!
We had to arrive in Florence a day early unexpectedly and were lucky to get a last-minute booking at the Roma. Everyone at the hotel was great. In particular, Benedetta at the front desk assisted us via messaging (through hotels.com) and was super helpful when we arrived. We had a recently remodeled room that kind of mixed traditional and mid-century decor; a nice change from what chain hotels are doing now! Very comfortable and the bathroom was well-supplied. Really, the whole place has a quirky charm that we liked. We already had nights booked elsewhere, but the Roma would be a fine place to stay if you want to be on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, near the train station.

Okay hotel stay but in a great location. Not too far from the train station and its in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, which makes it walk able to lots of places. The room was anything like the first main picture that you see on the third party booking site. Checked in exactly at the check in time was given a room that is on the first floor. When we entered it felt very claustrophobic and had a window that looks out to maybe another room or storage area. We asked to be moved to another room and the receptionist advised us that is their updated room but can put us into a older room, which was fine by us. She was apologetic and nice. Room on the third floor looks very outdated two uncomfortable twin beds pushed together, bedding was rough and scratchy, pillow is very deflated. The shower stall is tiny even for me (I am 5'1) and the shower stall doors does not completely close and/or seal leaving water all other the bathroom floor. There are mold in some area of the carpet. Breakfast is okay..nothing that stands out... Note: when you leave your hotel room, you give the front desk your key for safe keeping (key is very heavy)

Beautiful hotel! Delicious continental breakfast in the morning. Location was perfect! Walking distance to many sights and the train station. The bedrooms were simple, but comfortable. Front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great hotel, Great Location!
The hotel is spectacularly located for both the train station and the ability to walk to most of Central Florence in 10 minutes. The staff were very friendly and attentive to any requests, and even found a way for us to check in earlier than the advertised time, which was very helpful as we could shower before heading our for the day. The only drawback of the hotel was that the breakfast didn't have too many hot options, however, we would certainly stay there again.

Central location in florence
Hotel Roma was perfect for our family. We had two rooms & the location was wonderful for getting around Florence. We came by train & left by train & we walked with luggage bc it was 2 blocks from the train station. Lots of wonderful coffee, & restraurants in the square of the hotel. We were able to make a reservation at the Osteria Pastella which is world famous for the cheese wheel & it was merely a block away. My only complaint was the air conditioning could definitely be colder, & the noise from the street was loud. Must be night life near because we heard people singing & laughing outside the window (we were on the third floor) every night. Overall, it was a great stay, good breakfast

Great short stay
The hotel staff were really welcoming and friendly, I was only there for a short stay to explore the city and the hotel had everything I needed. The hotel is in a great location and really close to everything! It would have been nice to have a room with a view of the square outside the hotel but didn't matter too much as I didn't spend time in the room.
