hard bed

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: The breakfast
Cons: update room
The staff was nice but when we got into bed it was so hard neither of us could sleep and my husband likes hard mattresses. And the air conditioning unit was very old and noisy and kept coming on and off all night. You would think for this kind of money for a room it would have a quiet air conditioning unit or central air so you couldn't hear the unit all night.

Convenient

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: short walking distance to town
Location: good location for what I wanted to do/see in Durango
My stay was short and I was unable to make use of the all the perks of the hotel - free breakfast, complimentary cocktails and a pool; however, the room and amenities were good and I would consider staying at a Best Western again.

Nice hotel with convenient location

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, nice breakfast, indoor pool.
Cons: A/C unit could have been quieter.
Location: Durango & Silverton Railraod and museum, shopping, dining. All within walking distance.
We chose this hotel because of its close location to the Durango & Silverton RR station and Main St shops. This was very convenient, we didn't drive our van for two days. Indoor pool was nice, kids enjoyed it. Happy Hour with two drinks per adult per day was a plus (stress relief from the kids). Large TV with A/V input allowed for connecting a portable DVD player making the kids happy after daytime activities. A/C unit blower was a bit loud and ran continuously (did not cycle on and off). This might be an issue for some who need more quiet to sleep.

One night stay

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable.
Cons: No
Location: Close to Durango and all facilities, walking distance to shops and Railroad.
A clean and comfortable room, and free breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We would definitely recommend this hotel and use it again. The shuttle collected us from the airport at 11.30 pm and the driver could not have been nicer.

Location says it all

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: The location was convenient and the staff pleasant.
Cons: New towels. Replacing the toiletries used each morning. New air conditioners which don't deafen you at night. Some sort of insulation against noise
Location: Downtown Durango so everything within easy walking distance
Location, location, location. And a pool. Convenient for downtown Durango and easy to get to the station but otherwise it was difficult to see how BW could rate this hotel a 'plus'. It certainly did not compare with other 'plus' BW's I have stayed in on this trip. It is a bit run down. The pool was in the atrium with rooms surrounding it and this meant the noise penetrated the room until quite late. The room was big but bog standard. It overlooked a multi storey car park. Over a two night stay the toiletries were not replaced and the towels etc were grey rather than white. For twice the price of other similar rooms on my trip, not worth it.
