Nice hotel, close to downtown and the college.

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: We had a room facing the Animas River, beautiful view with a balcony! The beds were comfortable and the indoor pool was nice and warm!
Location: Close to the downtown area and the college. You can walk across the street and explore the downtown area. Walk across the parking lot to grocery store
We checked in late and was very pleased to be greeted with a warm cookie and trail mix for the hungry kids (the restaurant was closed). Very nice and helpful employees.

Nice Location

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The location is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable.
Cons: The cost of the room was kind of high, but relative to other hotels, it isn't bad. It did cost as much as a room in NY or London that I've stayed in.
Location: The Railroad station is basically across the highway in walking distance as is downtown Durango. The road to Mesa Verde is right next to the hotel too
I stayed for the 4th of July weekend and this hotel was in the perfect location. The fireworks were let off on the hill behind the hotel, across from the river. My advice is to walk a little ways toward the Albertson's to get a better view. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the Durango-Silverton Railroad and historic downtown, so I didn't need to worry about parking. I was able to just walk to where I needed to go. I belong to Hilton Honors and was upgraded to the top floor overlooking the river at no extra charge and I didn't even have to ask for it, so that was great. The room was comfortable and had a little balcony that overlooked the river. I'd recommend staying there if you're in Durango.

Room with a view onto a river

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The quiet
Cons: The interior seemeda bit out-dated.
Location: Close to the center and a big store (the latter right beside the hotel)
The hotel is very close to the old town center, which we very much appreciated. Althugh close to the main road it was quiet. Our room with two queen-sized beds was tight but aerved its purpose for us. The only disturbance was the fact that the hotel room doors closed noisely if not shutn with particular care. Theefore, not a good place to sleep in for guests sensitive to noise.
