Good hotel, two blocks away from downtown
Posted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: Access to the running path along the river.
Cons: Applebee's is worthless outside the bar (for sports). Would not recommend to anyone.
Location: N scale railroad is one block east. You can hear the whistles blowing in the mornings! The muesem is a good tour, as well.
The hotel was as expected: clean rooms, nice workout room, good guest services. There is a running path accessible right behind the hotel which runs along the river. The famous train station is one block away. Downtown is two blocks away. Applebee's is attached to the hotel and is ok for bar food. Breakfast service is beyond horrible, though. My party of 7 walked out after being seated for almost 15 mins and still had no wait staff, coffee, etc. That event caused us to find Oscars opposite north corner shopping center. EAT THERE! You will not be let down!

Average hotel walking distance to downtown.

Pros: Outside opening doors worked out well since we wanted to be close to our truck full of gear and the view from river front rooms was nice.
Cons: Could hear showers/water running when people in room next door were getting up and ready.
Location: Walking distance to downtown Durango.
Hotel is conveniently located to downtown Durango. The rooms facing the river have a nice view. We appreciated that the hotel door opened right to our truck, so we could keep an eye on our mountain bikes, dirt bikes, and camp gear. However, that does allow for it to be a bit more noisy that other hotels. You will also hear the train during the day. The pool was great for the kids and stayed open late, so they could swim after walking to main street for dinner. Breakfast was simply granola bars, oatmeal, and coffe, but again we just walked into town and ate. Overall the hotel is average, but fine for a night.

We just needed a room for one night
Posted Jan 2, 2013
picking up our daughter from Ft Lewis and needed a room for one night so we could head up the hill and pack her up. The staff was very courteous, the room was represented in the ad well, it was clean , and close to downtown and the college. The only problem i had was with the wi-fi

Great stay for the price

Pros: Exdellent downtown location, walking distance to everything.
Location: Downtown, on the river, blocks from the main busines area.
Great stay for the value. My room was on the bottom floor, facing the courtyard. It was quiet and comfortable. The room was very clean and in very good shape. It all made for a nice stay in Durango. I would definitely stay here again.

Drunks up fighting inside and out all night. Unable to locate hotel staff during the night. We will never stay here again.

The hotel was very good with very helpful staff. We upgraded to have a room overlooking the river which was lovely. We were disappointed that the swimming pool was not available for use and felt that guests should have been advised about this prior to arrival. There was a great riverside walk right outside the hotel.

The pool was being remodeled but we were given a couple passes to a nearby spa which was very nice. We had two children but were only allowed the two passes.
