My Sis and her 2 Grandchildren went with us so I had to get a hotel she could afford so I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I surprised. The location was perfect. Near restaurants, the train and Old Town shopping. It was very clean and comfortable considering we didn't have Queen beds. Right next to the beautiful river. The pool and grounds were very clean. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

We had a fairly good stay at the Best Western Mountain Shadows. It was centrally located in Durango. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate. Beds were comfortable and clean. One problem encountered was a faulty leaking shower head that was not properly addressed the first night when notified to the front desk, and it continued to leak onto the room below us. Unfortunately for our two nights' stay, we did not have positive showering experiences as the shower head did not work properly. Also the hotel was short of quarters for two nights and finally the lady at the front desk was pleasant enough to give me change from her own stash for the laundry machines. Aside from these issues, it was fine for a short stay.
