Conveniently, located for visiting Durham.Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Extremely good value for money.
Cons: Minor attention to detail: the foot pedal on the bin did not lift the lid, the toilet only flushed after a long delay.
Location: The beautiful city of Durham.
Very welcome experience after a four and a half hour drive. Greeted on arrival and given helpful information and map regarding nearby park and ride facility. The room was unfussy, clean and very comfortable. Plenty of hot water and a comfortable bath. Pleasant view to surrounding fields. The food was plentiful, well presented and with prepared quality ingredients. Knickerbocker Glory got the thumbs up!!

Close to Durham if you have your own transportPosted Jun 15, 2015
Rooms are fairly pleasant, but starting to look a little dated. Comfy bed and ensuite good. Pleasant restaurant in hotel and staff are great. I was visiting relatives so was not looking for a city hotel.......if I wanted to visit Durham I would probably pick one in the city (but it would probably cost more).

watch out for noisy rooms near roadPosted Aug 20, 2012
Location: A 10 mins drive from the city that needed directions to find.
Older style Motel with rooms around the car park.On main road which would affect some rooms ,fortunately not ours.Restaurant below average ,tables left uncleared ,floor needed food vacuuming, service and food average.

Big room with nicer furnishings, but noisy trafficPosted May 28, 2012
Pros: Furnishing were nice and the staff was friendly
Cons: Excessive traffic noise
Location: Approximately three miles from city center
Room was big and furnishings were nice. Carpet appeared older. The room was close to a busy road with a 50mph speed limit so traffic noise was excessive. If you decide to stay here, ask for a room as far from the road as possible. Air conditioning is rare in this country and it was fairly warm that day so I had to keep the windows open to keep the room cool which of course made the traffic noise louder... I probably should have asked for a different room but I just put in my earplugs. Overall, it was okay but noisy...I think a 3 is a fair rating.

looking for a wonderful meal?Posted Sep 6, 2011
Food outstanding. Staff courteous and helpful but two small problems that were notified were not addressed. These included a squeaking door outside our room which disturbed our sleep when guests came or went during the night.Otherwise happy to return
