Ramside Hall stayPosted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: cleanliness, beautiful interiors.
Cons: Choice of pillows - pillows were rock hard.
Location: near to home - I only live 5 miles away so didnt explore surrounding areas.
We stayed over as we had tickets to a show there, hotel is immaculate with beautiful interiors. Very helpful staff and plenty of them. Food was beautiful.

Ideally situated for visiting Durham or Beamish.Posted Mar 20, 2015
Cons: Would like to stay in one of the suites, could you do a deal for weekdays for senior citizens to enjoy the experience?
Location: Golf., great italian restaurant nearby at West Rainton. Durham and Beamish.

Luxury hotel, perhaps needs another star!Posted Mar 16, 2015
Beautiful hotel, inside and out. Friendly and efficient check in and check out. Beautiful room which was impeccable. We travelled with our toddler and this was the first hotel and we have stayed in quite a few to offer a bed that wasn't a "z" bed or couch conversion. Lots of extra little touches, such as magazines, water and biscuits. Breakfast was delicious , one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had, staff were attentive and friendly. It was a luxury experience. Highly recommended.

Great Value, Great ExperiencePosted Mar 10, 2015
Location: Very close to Durham for great sight seeing. Minutes away from the A1 so good transport links.
Stayed for one night and got a great rate from Expedia. We would highly recommend staying here. It's a nice location, very friendly, helpful staff and the rooms are of a very good standard.

Great place to stay!Posted Jan 10, 2015 on Hotels.com
Really lovely hotel with lovely food and good service. Would definitely stay here again. Very cosy by the fire in the residents lounge. The steak in the rib bar was very nice and so was the cheese soufflé.

Ramside Hall DurhamPosted Jan 9, 2015 on Hotels.com
Ramside Hall is a family run hotel and is conveniently positioned for public transport into Durham. The Health Spa/pool (opening Spring 2015) in addition to the attached golf courses will make the hotel very attractive to the sports minded. The hotel itself is well decorated, the room we occupied was clean and well appointed. Hotel staff were friendly and polite. The bar areas and lounges (where free tea/coffee is available) welcoming and the food, especially the breakfast, was excellent. All you would expect from a 4* hotel.

A disappointing stay.Posted Dec 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very friendly staff on Reception desk: room very warm: well furnished and tea/coffee tray with biscuits and a complimentary bottle of water are provided. BUT very noisy guests returning to their rooms late at night and in the early hours disturbed sleep on a number of occasions. The hotel caters for wedding receptions etc and so be prepared for "lively" guests. New hotel leisure centre building work is going on and workmen driving machinery were in action at 7.30am on a Sunday morning. The £2 return park and ride service only half a mile away is useful for guests wanting to go into Durham City Centre where parking can be problematic.Overall: an expensive stay considering the poor quality of sleep. Premier Inn gives better value for money.
