“Great location, friendly staff”

This is a great place to stay right in the center of Dusseldorf. It's afew minutes walk from the train station. The staff is very friendly and fluent in English. If you want to have the window open at night, ask for a room toward the back. The street-side rooms are quiet when the window is closed.

“Great for the price”

While the decor leaves something to be desired, I can't complain at all about my stay at the Monopol. The staff were extremely helpful (and they speak very good English), the room was always spotless, the hair dryer actually worked, and the (single) bed was comfortable. I was also really pleased with the variety of the foods served at their breakfast buffet. It's located very close to a subway station and within walking distance from the 'altstadt', the konigsallee and the media harbour. The only real complaint I have is that I had to walk up 6 flights of stairs to my room since there isn't an elevator.

Great location 3 minutes walk from Train Station, ten minutes walk from the Altstadt and one minute from Konigsallee shopping. Great Breakfast, friendly staff. Ideal for a short stopover.

“Cracking wee hotel”

Great little hotel, between station (7 mins walk) and Old Town (12-15 mins walk). Looks a bit dated from the outside, and the rooms can be a little quirky in shape, but if you want to stay in a plastic box, go with a budget chain near the station!

“Reasonable Budget Hotel Centrally Located”

Room was small but clean, represented reasonable VFM for budget hotel. Receptionist was friendly. Didn't need anything more for short business trip.

“Basic but comfortable”

I stayed in a triple room for one night. The lovely reception staff kindly offered another room when she saw my mum has impaired mobility. Although the deco is dated, the room is clean and comfortable. The hotel also offered free wifi in the room and a very generous free tea and coffee facilities in the lobby. I had to park my car across the road as their parking is full hence It is advisable to enquire prior to arrival as it seems parking space is limited.

“NO Stars”

Although the staff was friendly and helpful, no amount of kindness can make up for the sub-par accomodations at the Monopol. The rooms are tiny, dirty and without benefit or feature. Its like sleeping in a airplane...orly youre lower to the ground.

“Below any reasonable standard”

I was so unsatisfied that I packed my luggage and left, looking for another place to saty, even though I had already paid for it. The size, the mattress, the ventilation, almost everything was below my expectations.
