The ac did not work. I pointed this to the person who dropped of our bags. He claimed he changed the mode so it should be working. It did not! About 30 minutes later i complained to the front desk, who assured me that a maintenance person will look into it. When i checked back after dinner before heading to the room the same person he said it has been fixed. It was not! It was warmer in the room that outside. Hoodwinking guests like this is not expected from the Mercure brand :-(

Good place to stay
The rooms are small. Hotels itself is fairly new and is about 5 miles away from main area. Clean and bright location.

Hotel is 3 km away from town. When we reached there, highway work was ongoing. The approach to the gate was in bad shape. The rooms could have been bigger. The bathrooms are very small. The restaurant was good for breakfast but at the time of dinner the service was slow and lacking.

Insects and Lizards
We stayed at Mercure Drawka because it was new and expected a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the rooms. Although the furniture was all new I noticed droppings on the floor near the window. When I notified staff, rather than change rooms they just cleaned it. Eventually they shown us other rooms which also had droppingsand ants by the windows. This was very surprising as a new building. We also noticed a lizard twice which went under room doors. The staff eventually moved us to a second floor bedroom which was okay. However, the water from the taps was coloured yellow, this had to be run for 10 minutes until the water become clear. We were the only people staying in the hotel. The breakfast was good and made to order. The hotel needs to deal with the infestation problem immediately.
