Pros: quiet clean
It was clean quiet and comfortable Parking was a few blocks away in St. Michael's garage. Front desk staff were very helpful. Wake up calls were on time. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. It just goes to prove that that you can get an excellent room at a discounted rate on Expedia.

Pros: Very friendly and modern rooms
Cons: The only thing missing in the room was a set of drawers
Location: Very close to city centre, musuems and bars and restaurants
The staff were very helpful couldn't do enough for you. The room was very nice and cleaned to a high standard.

Pros: Location
Nice hotel but they tried to charge us an extra 100 pounds over the price booked with expedia for providing a bed for our 23 months daughter. The price in expedia does not mention that you have to pay city taxes on top. Other hotels are better value for money as they include breakfast in the price. In this hotel breakfast was charged at 21 euros per person.

What a great little hotel, conveniently located to everything you need to be by in Ghent, the hotel staff were wonderful and friendly, our room was in the court yard, very spacious and clean would stay there again for sure!!

Pros: Location close to major tourist sites and good restaurants. Staff were always friendly and helpful - but were overstretched.
Cons: More staff required - e.g. to cover Reception AND Bar at busy times, Breakfast service AND Room Service in the morning. Better key control system.
Location: Easy walking to tourist attractions in Ghent old town centre - canals, churches, 'Adoration of the Mystic Lamb', etc.
Stayed two nights in Ghent as part of a visit to Belgium. Hotel was very convenient for many tourist sites and restaurants. Able to leave car in a public car park approx. 200 metres from the Hotel de Flandres. The hotel was let down by having insufficient staff and poor systems control. This resulted in (a) very slow service at breakfast time and (b) we received our 'welcome gift' (bottle of champagne) for our 'Executive Room - Romantic Package' stay as we left the hotel on our final morning. Because of key control problems, the (ever helpful) staff had to go out and purchase the bottle of champagne - to give to us just before we left ! Any recommendation to friends would therefore be accompanied by several caveats. (Suggest that duplicate set of keys should be available to Duty Manager at all times.)
