Excellent location near city centrePosted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Value first, location second and friendly staff.
Cons: Provide beakers in bathroom for tooth cleaning.
Location: City centre 5 mins away. Theatres, cinemas, museums, art galleries shopping centres and lots of places of interest within walking distance.
Hotel looks a little tired from outside but rooms clean, reasonably spacious, those overlooking car park quiet (may be more noise if facing road). Staff very friendly, restaurant/bar on site. Breakfast - £6.00 for cold buffet choice provides very good value. Hull city nowhere as boring as most people think. This is a bright, friendly city with a lot of variety and well deserves its choice as 2017 City of Culture.

Nice economical hotel in city centrePosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff. The lack of noise at night. The inclusive continental breakfast. The location near to museums, shopping and waterfront.
Cons: This is an economy motel providing a good clean comfortable, not luxurious, lodgings. Don't expect more. Better directions and map would be helpful.
Location: Located on the edge of the city centre it is within walking distance of museums, shopping, monuments and items of interest.
If you can find the Travelodge city centre you can find the Campanile, it is right across the road. Getting into the parking lot is more difficult. You need to have a good map and plan ahead, it does involve some back streets. We were helped by a local lady on a bicycle. In general the local people are very friendly and helpful. Hull rolls up the sidewalks by 6pm most nights but the pubs remain open, and some offer real deals. Look for Weatherspoons, there are two in the downtown old city area. Most nights have a special called a "Club" For example on a monday we had an 8oz beef sirloin with jacket potato peas and mushrooms PLUS a free pint of beer or cider (or choice of soft drink/wine) for 5 pound sterling (about $8) called "the steak club" The Hotel offers an inclusive "continental" breakfast which includes a wide variety of items far beyond the roll and honey concept. It also offers a limited evening menu which does include some specials.

Room was clean, bed & pillows comfy. Breakfast was good, staff friendly & helpful. The only thing I would say against it was the restaurant was over priced for the quality of food, basically it was frozen food heated up.

Inexpensive hotel with parking close to centrePosted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: We liked the staff and the location
Cons: If the decor could be updated a bit
Location: Central location, close to the Hull Truck theatre and a short walk to the centre and the old town and marina.Do the fish trail -see tourist office...
The Campanile in Hull was ideal for our quick overnight stay. It was right in the centre of town, with plenty of parking. The price was very cheap and included continental breakfast.. which was buffet style and perfect. You can upgrade to a full english if you wish to. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is motel style, the rooms were a bit old fashioned decorwise but perfectly finefor what we needed. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a cheap, central overnight stay with parking in Hull.

This hotel is in a good location for hull city center & surrounding area. Rooms are of average size, but ample for a one or two night stay. The continental buffet breakfast provides a good start to the day & is recommended. Staff were pleasant & helpful make it a good place to stay.

It does what it says - reasonable hotel, a little dated, but service was good and the breakfast was fine.
