Went on Business and the hotel was close to Hull and the city center. Nice bar in the hotel and Starbucks in the lobby.

Quirky site for a new hotel

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: There's plenty of free parking and a gym and pool.
Cons: Install air-conditioning; provide more effective fans; stop offering 'room upgrades'; deliver what is promised in the publicity.
Location: You could buy a new car (it's surrounded by car salesrooms) or go shopping in the Sainsbury's down the road.
I was disappointed mainly by the offered room 'upgrade'. For £20 you get a slightly smaller room with free Sky Channel- and that's about it. When we stayed it was very hot and there is no air-conditioning and a tiny window. The top floor is particularly hot. All in all it was very average. The hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate, quite some way from Hull City Centre. It is also quite noisy due to being adjacent to a dual-carriageway.

Thank you for your recent comments, I am disapointed to hear you did not enjoy your upper deck experience. If you are staying with us again, please contact the hotel and we can allocate a room away from the road for you. Kind Regards Village Hull

Paid in advance but kicked out to another hotel

Posted Aug 4, 2014
I paid in advance for this hotel via Expedia. I assumed that my room would be waiting for me. I am a woman travelling alone on business. I arrived at 2230 to be told the hotel was full and they had booked me into a another hotel '5 mins down the road'. I was very angry but they would not budge. After a 20 min taxi ride I arrived at the other hotel which was definitely inferior. Check-in details showed that it was £85 cheaper than the Village. Very unhappy with the whole experience. Apparently it is the hotel's policy to overbook the hotel and allocate rooms to those who arrive first whether paid in advance or not. Be aware! I have never experienced this in 30 years of business travel.

Great hotel and nice added bonus of a top deck room upgrade. Only downside is that the rooms don't have a/c

Reasonable hotel for a night on business

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: good bed, staff were nice, very relaxed.
Cons: Air conditioning in the room rather than a floor fan, and keep the lights off so the room doesn't get too hot.
Location: on business.
Good for a night, but needs air conditioning rather than a floor fan

Nice pool & gym

Posted Jul 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
stayed here and made use of the pool, gym and classes. Room's are good size (if you upgrade they are smaller). Only downside is the windows don't open fully but they do provide a fan (no a/c). Plenty of free parking.
