There is better places

TV's are out of date. Fireplace is fake. You pay for internet $9.99 a day and it doesn't work very well. I used my hotspot for my kids. Staff was very friendly while they thought they could sell you a time share but once they realized that wasn't happening they became extremely rude. Look around there are better places to stay

Nice hotel but needs more customer service

The villa was wonderful but it was difficult to find..the lobby and actual villa are a half a mile apart and where the villa was a cut all located needs better street lighting...not quite sure that the unit is used regualrly, the kitchen sink would clog after every use, the half bathroom toilet started to leak and the entrance hallway light stopped working. The evening front desk staff was not helpful and rude.

Fairway Villas

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Fit everyone comfortably. Everything we needed was there to make meals.
Cons: WiFi access should be available for the entire villa, not at a $10 per device charge, not in this day and age. Especially with the shotty reception.
Location: There are plenty of food places. The snow tubing was right down the street. The kids got to go in the indoor pool as well so they really enjoyed it.
Nice for a quick, budget-friendly weekend getaway with the family. Not the most up to date but again, for the money you can't really complain.

Dated, but nice enough for a quick weekend

Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Snowtubing, plenty of appliances for cooking in the room.
Cons: The furniture, the bedding, the overall design. The parking should be reserved for each unit.
Location: The outlet in Tannersville was great. Snowtubing was right next door and Perkins is a must for breakfast!
I visited Fernwood Resort with my family last weekend. We stayed at the Tree Tops. The room was nice enough, but pretty dated. There was one newer tv with cable on the first level, and an older tube tv in the upstairs bedroom. Everything was very clean, but looked like it hadn't been updated at all. The closet had plastic and wire hangers. The headboard was loose and had a large scrape on the wood. The remote had electrical tape holding the batteries in. Also, the pull out couch was torn in back. Overall I wouldn't purchase a timeshare here, but I would come back again for the convenience to restaurants, shopping, and my 5 year old really loved the snow tubing. The pool was overcrowded and a little scary looking because the water was so cloudy, so I would recommend shying away from that. I definitely overpaid because I waited too late to book, but I would visit again if the rate was good enough.

Great for a Winter Ski Getaway!

Posted Jan 27, 2014
Ok, so the thing to remember is that your getting great value if you need to stretch your dollar. I stayed at the treetop Villas. My wife and I shared a 1 bedroom villa with our two toddlers, and two additional adults. The Villa had a bedrrom with a queen sized bed, a large sleeper sofa in the common area, and an additional bathroom. My kids had enough space to run around without it feeling crowded. By splitting the cost of the villa, the stay was dirt cheap! The resort grounds were beautifully covered in snow, and truly made it feel like we were somewhere deep in the woods. Snowtubing on site, short drive to ski/ snowboarding, and tons of amenities on site to take advantage of. Yes, the villas are dated, and the result is less than 5 star, but the staff is great and that counts for alot. We were very happy and cant wait to do it again......

We Didn't Stay

Posted Jan 26, 2014
We were looking forward to a couple of days of swimming and snow tubing. When we arrived after a two and a half hour drive we turned around and went home. The pictures online have to be 20 plus years old. The facility is old, dirty and sad. The help was OK. Because it was Christmas, we were provided with a paper with a list of restaurants for dinner which was covered in smudges and grease spots. The hallways were dark and dingy. The room looked like it was furnished from the Salvation Army. We looked at each other and decided to go home. Very disappointing.

Stay was an okay experience

My girlfriends and I do an annual trip to the poconos and have stayed here for the past three years in a row. This year we were very disappointed by the staff and how we were treated. In the past years we were given rooms with three beds (enough room for 6). Once we got checked in and got to our villa, we found only two beds. We called the front desk and told us no other rooms were available. We explained we needed room for 6, and the woman told us rudely that, that is why there is a sofa bed. Shocked by her tone, we took out the sofa bed to find it broken. No one came to fix it, and we ended up taking the bedding off and placing it on the floor. The day we left, we got two wake up calls to remind us of check out starting at 8am. EXTREMELY RUDE, as we are always timely and out by their check out time. All in all, extremely upset by the service, and the rooms are okay, especially if you get an old villa. I will not be staying here anymore. There are far better places in the poconos to stay than to receive such service.

not what it seems

the pictures are not as they seem. the place is very run down and old. the front desk was nice and accommodating about giving a refund but unless they so major renovations in no way is this a resort.
