“Not for everyone”
Staff was very nice and helpful but the hotel itself is dated and hokey. Stick to b&b's or cabin rentals in this area.
“Fabulous romantic getaway!”
This hotel has it all - beautiful grounds, romantic suites, great food, fabulous entertainment and it's all inclusive! What better way to spend a weekend than at a resort where the theme is love?! HIghly recommend and splurge for the champagne tower room, if possible. You won't be disappointed! We will be going back and met many people who have been going every year for over 20 years. Now we know why! A not to be missed experience.
“fantastic hotel but no in-room internet”
fantastic room but no in-room internet
“not up to par”
Although the public areas are fine and many of the rooms have been renovated, we did not get one. Our room was down a dark, dingy hall and the room itself was old and tired. The bedspread was faded and the rug had been patched. There were burn marks on the furniture and rug in a non-smoking room. We could not get another room because they were fully booked .Since we were only staying for one night and the room and bath were clean we stayed but not again unless we get a better room .
“Romantic Fantasy Apple with Own Pool. Absolutely Recommendable”
Great getaway! The hotel is not new but our room was well kept. Especially the private pool with glass ceiling (can look down from the living room) was great. This is where we spent the most time with admiring the view of Echo Lake coming in second. The main facility and activities were okay. We liked bingo, horse race, the game room and indoor mini golf. The food is good but on the greasy side. Also the default is seating at a multiple person table so be sure to request private seating if that is not your style (for which there may be a wait at peak hours).
“Good for couples, but don't expect a classy place”
Booked the Roman Tower for my wife' birthday. The room, while impressive on amenities (swimming pool, champagne glass jacuzzi, sauna etc.), left less than stellar impression. The rooms need major refurbishing, quality of decor is very outdated, carpets were stained in some places and bathroom shower was dirty. The property is located in a picturesque setting with a beautiful lake right behind the main building and many activities available for guests. One thing that did not impress at all were the trivia and newlyweds games in the main lounge...they were cheesy to say the least and just not romantic at all... Food was good, tasty and cooked well, but why not have a lunch buffet? Only breakfast and dinner are included in price. We opted for "breakfast in bed" and presentation was pathetic (carton box with everything stuffed inside), not what you'd expect for paying high dollar for the stay. Overall I recommend for couples, but don't expect classy service for the price paid.
