Great Sea ViewPosted Apr 24, 2014
Very friendly staff. Sea view rooms worth the extra price. 15 minute walk from train station. Close to restaurants. Easy access to seafront and South Downs. Older property, but well maintained.

Nice hotel opposite seafront.Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Very helpful staff, good location as away from main centre so quiet but still walkable to get to the pier and centre of town.
Cons: Some parts need updating, bathroom etc but they are working on that at the moment I think.
Location: Theatres, walks along the promenade.
Nice hotel, looks a bit dated in places. Very helpful staff. Room looked like it needed a refurb (but think they are in process of doing that) as bathroom though Ok and clean looked very old. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast very good. Room service very fast and efficient. Only downside is being woken early by the seagulls, but Hey! I was by the seaside! (they got my car as well!) Not one for the younger generation. Mostly older people staying.

Not for young people (we're 50 ish) I'm sure hotels like this have their place - just a bit dated for us.

Our weekend at the Lansdowne hotelPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: It overlooked the sea and was close to the congress theatre
Cons: It looks a little tired in places
Location: It is within walking distance of the arndale centre
We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend at the Lansdowne . The hotel looks a little tired in places but on the whole we relaxed and enjoyed the peace of our room

Good valuePosted Aug 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
A good location, clean, friendly staff. Great value breakfast, included only £5.00 per person. The voucher for parking on the front was also useful.

Lovely location along the sea front but little parking (tho you can arrange a lock up garage for a nominal fee.) We managed to park in a side road. The lift gave up the ghost while we were there, but thankfully our room on the third floor was accessible to us. We were upgrade to a huge family room with 2 bathrooms so plenty of space, tho facing inland we got the noise of the bins being put away early in the morning. London prices for drinks from the bar but staff very helpful and a number of rooms you could retire to to watch the world go by.
