Quality hotel by the beachPosted Jul 23, 2014
A very nice hotel opposite the beach, right by the bandstand which has live tribute acts Friday and Saturday nights throughout the summer. A short walk back away from the sea takes you right into the heart of the town of Eastbourne and a wide range of restaurants. It has been over twenty years since we visited Eastbourne and what a change, the local people are very friendly and helpful and only a short distance to the South Downs and beautiful walks. This hotel offers a quality place to stay at a reasonable price (half what you would pay in Brighton). The staff and the food was excellent and the position perfect, we will definitely be going back and this hotel would be on the top of our list in where to stay.

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff.Posted Jul 17, 2014
Cons: A slightly larger selection on the a-la Carte menu at dinner.
Location: We know Eastbourne well, as we had relations living in the town and prior to their deaths were regular visitors.
We, (my wife and I) chose the hotel by chance, which turned out to be the best selection we could have made. Room, service and value for money has been exceptional. Thank you all.

2nd stay. Nicely looked afterPosted Jul 13, 2014
Pillows could do with being softer but other than that all was good. We had an extra bed for our 7 year old who phoned reception constantly asking for things and happily playing around the hotel. Staff were very lovely and made her feel very welcome.

Great Position/locationPosted Jul 12, 2014
A old Hotel that has been modernised, so you get big, high ceiling rooms and space. downside is that there is no A/C. Staff were great from all departments, Bar, reception, room cleaning, and restaurant. Breakfast was Buffet style, personaly I prefer my Breakfast cooked to order, but it was oaky, and plenty of choice. We ate one night in the Restaurant, it was a limited menu, but we found something that we liked. Parking is out the back and secure.

Nice hotel- stones throw from beach and bandstandPosted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Position, cleanliness
Cons: Breakfast (eggs)
Location: Opposite bandstand, stones throw from pier and across the road from sea. Close to Beachey Head.
Stayed 2 nights as in Eastbourne for a wedding. Unfortunately insufficient time to have a good look round the town but am told some very good shopping to be had . The hotel was clean and staff very efficient. Room with sea view. Only problem was very hot in the hotel in general and even with bedroom window open still very hot. Breakfast comprehensive but fried eggs had been either overcooked or hanging around too long.

Excellent position with great viewsPosted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: The period style and the professional staff.
Cons: The food at dinner was not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel experience.
Location: Eastbourne has a lot of interesting period features and small independent shops. The shop museum was fascinating and there are old buildings to see.
We really enjoyed our stay at this stylish hotel. Staff were very good and the decor was lovely, keeping in context with the period feel of a grand hotel experience. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty of choice. The dining room was beautiful. The only down side was the dinner in the evening. The food was bland and mediocre - a real disappointment.

Quick VisitPosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The traditional rooms are better than the modernised rooms.
Cons: Not a lot.
Location: Convenient for shops, restaurants and cafes and the beach.
Our room was clean comfortable and well presented. The staff, especially front desk was very helpful and willing to offer and pursue any issue or additional need. The breakfast staff were polite and efficient. The food was comprehensive and quite good. (Always difficult to provide pre-cooked food for large numbers without there being a quality issue) We had a very enjoyable stay and would return if visiting your town again.
