great view but noisy
Posted Jan 19, 2013
Pros: the sea view
Cons: noise, thin bed sheets
Location: central location on the sea front. 15 min walk from the train station, easy to find
no accoustic insulation; so noises from street, waves crashing on the beach, next door room great view of the sea front & the old derelict pavillion. The room i stayed in had a balcony so would be fantastic in summer staff friendly & v helpful free dvd library

Great location friendly staff and cheap!

For the price I was very impressed with the room and helpful staff. This hotel is not perfect, it's not 5 star but if your looking for a nice homely and friendly hotel with a great location then this is the hotel for you. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean. Definitely recommended! :) oh and the new resurant has great food too

A Handy Hotel

Location: Good position along the sea front and near the town facilities.
The room was unexpectedly 'en suite' and recently refurbished to some extent. I did, however, have trouble operating the shower and the toilet cistern was not securely anchored to the wall. Also, the radiator thermostat was not working and was permanently on 'very hot'. The bed was comfortable, the tea-making facilities much appreciated, the breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great staff but sad rooms!
Posted Jan 7, 2012
Pros: Great service
Cons: Tatty furnishings in all but the dining room
Location: Great location right on sea front
Staff were very friendly and service was great. Breakfast was very good and again service was excellent. However, peeling wallpaper in hallways and very poor mouldy looking grouting in shower does not inspire confidence in upkeep and the metal bed squeaked every time I turned over. With a bit of TLC this could be a brilliant hotel given the superb seafront location.

Close to beach and Brighton Pier

Brilliant!!! staff were very friendly & helpful.. The only fault I have with hotel is the stairs, no lift and my mum found it very hard to climb stairs as she has asthma, myself and my daughter are asthmatics also so we too found it hard too... but I have to say the staff made up for this, couldn't have been nicer.. I would stay there again but on the ground floor!!!

Staff really friendly, really eager to help us, not luxury but very clean and good value for money, couldn't have asked for more - opened our window in the morning and we were looking at Brighton Pier!
