On arrival I was given a room but there was no heating so it was very cold. The Manger happily moved me to another room with a heater in which was better. The room itself was clean and in good condition with plenty of tea/coffee. The mattress though was very hard, not comfortable at all and quite crunchy. The noise from outside was easily heard (which can't be helped I imagine) but still was a loud room to have. The staff were helpful and all in all for the price I paid I can't really complain. I don't think I would return, purely as the bed made sleep quote hard.

Deserve refund for this shoddy stay.
No staff on premises, managed remotely. Had to sit on door step for 55 mins upon arrival before i could reach someone by phone. People living next door said that this has happened a few times. Breakfast not on sight. Was going to be cafe in next street, then got changed overnight (note under room door) to another cafe a 5 mins walk away (in the rain)

Was given lower level room which seemed overflow room as it was not very clean, mouldy and musty smell with very worn out lumpy mattress. Owners were out and 'no vacancies' sign up. Asking for another room next morning, I was given a perfectly decent one. However, not without owner at length arguing with me that I was the first guest to complain and I shouldn't expect luxury when booking these kinds of places. I've been staying in these kinds of places for over 20 years all over the UK, without ever any such issues. It's not about luxury, but about my holiday and my health. Terrible attitude.

Spent one night in Eastbourne. Cromwell House was a perfect spot for us - easy check in, delicious breakfast, and close proximity to the pier. For the price, we felt this was a clean, cosy spot. We felt very welcome here and would definitely stay again.

I don't have any major issues but there could have better airfreshners because there was an unpleasant smell coming from the wardrobe. The owner was helpful. Car parking is a problem but this is not related just to this guest house.

The Cromwell looked nice in the pictures on the website, but it's not up to the standards it advertises. Not worth the money, not very clean, en suite was far too small. This rating is not 4.5, 3 at a push. English breakfast was cold. All in all not very impressed.

Lovely building; high ceilings; very close to the pier and promenade. Their help in getting a parking place during the carnival parade was very welcome and very kind indeed. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast..

An excellently located small hotel just a minutes walk from the pier and promenade. Just 8 rooms make for a peaceful environment. The room facilities are adequate save for perhaps an extra socket as the limited supply means effectively one for the kettle, phone charger and laptop. Easily resolved with careful timing. Staff pleasant and attentive, the property is both comfortable and secure. Although available i didnt select the breakfast however the smell of "an English" was most pleasing each morning.

Lovely little hotel, well located and smoothly run by helpful staff. The room was warm clean and comfortable. The common areas are nicely presented with local art and pictures, the lounge is comfortable with a nice library a television and a homely feel. The only thing I found missing was a socket or two for today's traveller. A shaver point might be appreciated as would changing a single socket for one including a USB charging port. Such a small point.

Spotless clean +cosy, quiter location, 2 minutes walk from beautiful beaches, Adorable +kindly staff, very tasty breakfast; Delicious; bacon +sausages, been upgraded for a room in the back; quiter,could see/Apreciates the beautiful moon from my bed! Noisey Road.
Everything was good except I was in a room over-looking an extremely noisy road where on one occasion several motorbikes of different power decided to have a rally using the road as part of a circuit, going round and round for about an hour. Absolutely disgraceful. I would stay there again as long as I was in a room at the back of the property.

We booked a double room on 15.02.2018 . When we arrived, 6 months later, on 08.08.2018, we were told that we were now booked into a twin room. The guy who greeted us was very apologetic but this is not the point. We are a couple and wanted a double room so, to be told we had a twin room due to the hotel 'changing hands' in the interim period, was unacceptable and not our problem, but we had no choice but to take it and were told to 'push the two single beds together' !!! Furthermore, we were not offered any form of compensation by way of a discount and were also charged the statutory daily rate for a parking permit.. We find it extremely annoying that we found ourselves in this unfortunate situation. There cannot be many who book six months in advance for a 3-night stay and for this situation to arise due to hotel management incompetence is, I think, totally out of order.

Good B&B close to beach
We stayed for 4 nights to attend the tennis which was close by 10 min walk. Had a room at the front of the house which was quite small and weather was very hot so had to sleep with the windows open hence lots of traffic and seagull noise.
