Nice hotel as a base for shopping & eating out!Posted Nov 16, 2013
We had an over all lovely stay at drakes hotel! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the bar is a very pleasant place to sit and relax with a glass of wine! We stayed in room 404 apparently an free upgrade as we originally booked a ying yang room but to be honest I would have preferred to have stayed with the ying yang as it had more character and features (our friends stayed in a ying yang room 304) our room was nice but as it was on top floor we missed out on having the gorgeous Georgian windows with our sea view so it's a bit of a boring room aside from the fantastic deep bath that is! I'm also not a fan of the tiny wet rooms they have in the rooms instead of en suite with a proper shower as everything gets soaked and then you end up with a very wet loo & soggy toilet paper! Also cleanliness could be better as i found long hairs on floor (not mine) and tea facilities were very dusty and there were some stains on the cushions on bed (pillows and sheets all fine though). I did love the little gift bag of white company toiletries though very nice touch! If you are looking for somewhere to just sleep for a night then I would definitely recommend drakes but not if you were planning on lounging in your your room a bit more. I would stay here again but avoid the loft rooms on top floor.

Pleasant beach hotel with parking. Easy to get to and great staff. Others a bit cheaper but not nearly as good .

Lovely place to stayPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: Nice room, nice location, nice food, nice staff
Cons: I understand parking is an issue in Brighton. They do their best to offer two spaces. We were fortunate to have one. I wonder if it ever causes issue?
Location: Brighton pier, restaurants, beach, beachfront walk
Lovely room, very accommodating and friendly staff, delicious food in their restaurant, nice close location to beach and other attractions.

Excellent Brighton hotelPosted Aug 15, 2013
Cons: Air con noise
Location: 2 minutes walk from the pier
Excellent boutique hotel in Brighton, away from the stag & hen parties noise. Food is great, room spacious and comfortable. Best hotel i've stayed in Brighton.

Charming hotel, great staff, terrific location.Posted Aug 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Drakes was a lovely experience for my wife and myself. Our room was bright and airy, with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea just across the road. Hotel staff were extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating. The hotel bar is a particular standout, and we were amazed and delighted with the quality of the drinks! Highly recommended.

Generally good.Posted Jul 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
When booking it stated the room overlooks the city or sea... It did not, it had misted windows that opened out into a shared courtyard between the surrounding buildings. Bit disappointed about this because overall the hotel was brilliant. The facilities were good and the service was friendly. Their cocktail bar was amazing with a knowledgable barman who gave great advice on different cocktails.

No better hotel in BrightonPosted Jul 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
It takes a lot for me to write a review for a hotel but Drakes of Brighton merited it. It was really a top quality hotel from start to the end of our stay. The bedrooms, in-room bath and wet room are a fantastic way to unwind away from the Beach and each room is really spacious and well put together. A special mention must also go to the staff who gave us complimentary drinks when the hotel boiler was temporarily broken. Most other hotels would just make you wait. Overall a fantastic hotel- really the only place you should stay in Brighton.

FlawlessPosted Jul 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything you've heard about how good Drakes is turned out to be completely true on my visit. Superbly appointed room, very quiet, proper air conditioning, excellent bathroom and toiletries, and incredible service (including a phone call the day before I was due to arrive asking about any special needs). All of this capped off by properly free WiFi and a buffet breakfast that doesn't rip you off *and* a decent overall nightly rate to boot - cheaper than the likes of Jurys Inn with a quality of service that's an order of magnitude better. Will be returning.

Friendly boutique style hotelPosted Jul 11, 2013
Location: Good seafront central location.
Intimate boutique style hotel with friendly helpful staff. Only minus points is old buildings with wooden floors, with a bit of luck you may get considerate light footed neighbours above you.
