One night winter value

Pros: The pool was nice but the changing room s were really cold which detracyed from the experience

Location: Its Brighton - not enough space or time to tell you that!
This was good value for money overall - We rather felt that the breakfast staff (with the exception of the chap poaching the eggs) were more focussed on processing us than providing the means to enjoy a pleasant breakfast. It seems the routine at breakfast while clearing the tables for more breakfast guests was to leave the milk jus - ours was dirty.

Cons: Some modernising
Good location and very friendly staff. Was fortunate to have an upgraded room but due to strong winds the television was not working. Also the radio in the room did not work and I could not connect to the WiFi. It was late on my arrival so did not contact the front desk. The room was comfotable and a good breakfast. The hotel was clean but could do with some updating and a touch of paint in places.

Nice Hotel but Noisy

Pros: The hotel is very comfortable and staff pleasant and helpful, and in an excellent location.
Cons: Put guests without dogs on a different floor, or ask guests with dogs not to leave them alone in the rooms.
On arrival it was mentioned that I had booked through Expedia and I was offered an upgrade from the single room I had booked to a double for £10, which I took, however a friend who arrived later was offered the same upgrade free of charge. The only difference being that I had booked with Expedia and she had booked direct with the hotel, which leads me to believe that guests are treated differently dependant on how they book. My room was very comfortable, however the rooms opposite and next to me had dogs who had been left alone in the rooms. After over an hour of continuous barking I contacted reception who immediately offered to change my room, which I gratefully accepted. However I then had to go to reception myself to get the new room key and move myself. I would have at least expected a new room key to be brought to me.

Pros: Bed, view, breakfast buffet, young (French?) guy on exception when we arrived
Cons: Herding of diners, room maintenance, rude and inconsiderate reception-staff over phone
Location: Great location, only a short stroll to town centre ad some nice pubs and restaurants.
Booked Hilton as I was working nearby next day and seemed an unusually ideal opportunity to invite my better half to join me on a business trip and have a relaxing day using the spa and beauty treatment facilities.. Was therefore pretty annoyed when we called on the day to book a treatment only to be told the facilities are closed, undergoing a wholesale refurbishment: wouldn't have booked at all had we known this. Not mentioned at all on hotel website and we got short shrift over the phone from the female receptionist. Fair play to the chap who was in duty when we arrived who apologised and arranged a room upgrade. That would have been fine except that although the room had apparently been refurbished, bits were missing from the bathroom..just a wee bit shoddy. Breakfast ought to have been a real treat... and would have been except for the staff insisting on crowding diners on adjacent tables rather than spreading folks about a bit... felt like we were being herded like sheep.. Bed was really comfy though!

OK hotel by pebble beach and wonderful Brighton

Pros: Staff and breakfasts
Cons: room facilities; inclusive wifi.
Location: Brighton Pavilion is a "must see before you die". Ignore Brighton at your peril.
2 nights, 3 rooms for our family. Really helpful staff - excellent breakfasts and OK indoor pool and fitness centre. Downside perhaps is lack of facilities in our rooms - no bar or fridge for cold drinking water and cold tap produced only tepid water - minimal instant coffee and tea facilities although more was available on request (no biscuits) - no free wifi (BT only) - radio not fully functioning within the TV (only one channel worked). Good for a short stay. Hotel was very busy with conferences but coped well.

Location: Close to beach, restaurants and shops.
Pleasant stay but didn't sleep well because room no. 380 was noisy. I rang the hotel directly after booking with Expedia and requested a quiet room but this request fell on deaf earsWhen we arrived at the hotel there was a long queue to check in as there weren't enough Reception staff. There wasn't the usual warm welcome you receive when entering a hotel. No information given about the hotel ie Adult Pool times or Breakfast arrangements. We decided to have breakfast outside the hotel as we were told by another guest that their breakfast was awful. On three occasions I tried to ring Reception from our room but the phone kept ringing and ringing and no reply received each time. Just as well it wasn't an emergency call. I'm not sure the lack of service was due to the fact that we had booked through Expedia a cheaper deal and not directly with the hotel but this shouldn't have made a difference. Would not stay at this hotel again unless it has been refurbished and staffing improved. Will try The Grand on our next visit. Overall a very disappointing stayLuckily it was only one night.

Room too hot

Stayed here for 2 nights over NYE. Booked a superior king room. The room was so hot and no way to cool it down. Called the maintance man. He told us that the Cooling system was being serviced and it wouldn't be on anytime soon. He offered us some cold drinks! Sleeping dreadful as there was no air in the room. Went down to complain but the queue at reception stretched on with about 20 people waiting. For the price we paid it was appalling also no mini bar on the room.

Pros: But the lobby and the dining room was excellent, best hotel breakfast I have ever had, great location on the front but overall not Hilton standard.
Cons: hall decore, room curtains, car park signage and lighting
Location: Excellent location on the front and 5 minutes to the shops
Room was very very hot, apparently the cooler had failed due to a broken pipe on the roof and the room temerature controller was not working, 25 Deg C in the room and cooking. Decore in the hallways was shabby in places, room was a little tired, could not open the net cutrains to see the sea view, car park was dingy and poor signage for hotel entrance. Staff in the bar we not high class, more like pub staff than Hilton staff.
