Noisy room

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Fans or air conditioning in rooms
Nice that they have refurbished the place but shame there is no air conditioning which meant opening the window and listening to the fans on the roof of the next door building all night!! Would hate to stay there in the height of summer.

A Hotel that lives up to its Name

From the moment we arrived to the time that we left, we experienced nothing but good service. The room was well presented and meet all our needs. Couldn't find a single fault....

Good hotel if a little pricey.

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Staff
Cons: Room was a bit tired
Location: Great location bang on the seafront. Short walk to the 'Lanes' and lots of good restaurants nearby.
Stayed the night before Marathon and parking was very difficult. Staff at the Grand are excellent and extremely helpful. We had a se view room which was lovely except for the carpets which were not great. (marked and with some gaps between each piece) My wife was not happy with the state of the ladies loos on the ground floor. Would stay again.

Fantastic Staff

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: The friendly staff
We only stayed one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. The staff were absolutely amazing they were very charming, always had a smile on their face and nothing was to much trouble. The room was very comfortable and had everything that you would expect, the bed was very comfy and we both slept well. Breakfast was very good and you had a choice of full English, continental, or both, it was a buffet style breakfast and there was plenty of it. we would definitely stay here again and hopefully a bit longer.

Nice hotel but awful bathroom!

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Ordered a sea view room- sea view was beautiful but was given a disabled bathroom with no bath & a sink we had to stoop to reach. Reception was slow to respond when we asked for milk with me having to call several times.

The hotel is stately and beautiful, whilst the room modern and fresh. Just lovely. A delight.

A Grand room

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: The room was absolutely lovely and breakfast was really good, tables nicely spread out.
Cons: Reception was quite small and not very well staffed. We waited a while to check in and check out. Long queue for breakfast
Had a sea view room on the top floor. Beautifully furnished and decorated, really tasteful and stylish. Bathroom was superb with a lovely shower. The room was extremely clean and very spacious with chairs and sofa, big TV and a very large comfortable bed. We had 3 windows but you had to be standing to see out. Some parts of the communal areas could do with a lick of paint.

Great location, a touch of grandeur

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, ambience.
Cons: Some room fittings getting a bit worn.
Location: Fantastic food and great fun just wandering around the Lanes.
I have visited this hotel twice as my son is at university in Brighton. This time I only stayed for one night. The hotel was very busy but staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. It feels rather like hotels used to in my youth, with touches of grandeur, high tea and a pianist in the foyer. Breakfast was good and the bed was really comfortable. Overall excellent value for money and I will use it again.

Comfort and ekegance

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Level of service throughout was fantastic with a real personal touch too even extending to after the stay when a piece of lost property was looked for, found and posted on promptly and courteously.
