Lovely experiencePosted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Great cocktails in Lobby bar.
During the Brighton Marathon the hotel was rather busy but the staff were excellent and we had a lovely relaxing stay. Delicious food in the restaurant and a wonderful breakfast which even offered Gluten free options.

Great hotel, great location for restaurants barsPosted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: Very comfy bed. Breakfast was very enjoyable. Great service.
Cons: Allow dogs into bar areas, can understand restaurants not allowing dogs. Seemed a bit over the top.
Location: Beach bars restaurants. Excellent location.
Was a very nice hotel, although they allow dogs to stay they are not allowed in the bar which I was not pleased about. This is not stated at the time of booking. Rooms very comfy. Car parking separate and very expensive.

Fabulous stayPosted Apr 8, 2014
We had a fabulous stay on what was probably one of the busiest weekends of the year because of the marathon. Every member of staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast fresh and extensive. Afternoon tea an experience in itself. Nothing was too much trouble. Oh yes and the bedrooms clean and faultless. Looking forward to returning next year if not before.

Noisy hotelPosted Apr 8, 2014
The stay did not start very well we were upgraded but put next to wedding reception they gave us 40 pounds discount , I was running in the marathon and needed peace and quiet . I was charged 277 pounds for the Saturday night but 168 pounds for Sunday. Extortionate rate for quality of hotel

problem resolved effectivelyPosted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: Beautiful decor inside, particularly in the foyer/staircase. Attentive staff, great breakfast.
Cons: Rm 132 (I think) needs to be sound proofed and possibly converted to a single (too small for 2). pool only available to SPA users at an extra cost
I booked a night away for me and my partner for her birthday. We orginally booked a double room. When we arrived the room we were given was possibly the worst room in the hotel. It was very small, on a busy corridor beside the stairs, very warm with no air con or ability to open the windows and the noise from the generators was very loud, it could be heard over the TV. I immediately contacted reception to ask if we could upgrade to a sea view room but there were'nt any available. They did however move us to a much bigger nicer room at no extra cost. The staff were very friendly and accomodating and we had a great stay and great breakfast next morning over looking the sea. Only downside was the fact that despite booking well in advance we were originally allocated a room that does not represent the rest of the hotel We were almost offended that they thought it ok for us to stay in there.

Great hotel. Worth the titlePosted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Recent refurbishment looks great. Wonderful beds.
Cons: Capability of requesting twin room when booking.
A slight blip on check-in: we requested a twin room ( wasn't possible to do this when booking on website), which took over an hour to arrange and resulted in a less than polite response from the receptionist. That aside we had a wonderful overnight stay. Comfortable, well- appointed rooms, excellent restaurant & all other staff were friendly and hospitable.

Brief stay away for a celebrationPosted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: see above comments
Cons: The room was far too hot - there is a need for better air conditioning. We queued for breakfast - this could have been done better.
Location: The hotel is easy walking distance to the Lanes and the prom. We walked to both and had a very good time. Good parking close by as well.
Booked to stay to celebrate my wife's birthday. We have seen the hotel many times but never stayed. It was a very good choice. It is so convenient for all the main attractions in Brighton and it is only 45 mins from home. We have a very good stay particularly the atmosphere in the bar and the excellent food in the restaurant. It was very relaxing and it was nice that it was also had a busy buzz. Would definitely stay again.
