Just a fabulous quiet space ( yes, the room was spacious ) bed was cozy, the only noise was some teenagers away from their parents screaming Sunday morning. Hotel is cool, the staff are really friendly.

"Let's face it, you don't go to New York for a rest"
The Manhattan Soho is pretty much in China Town, and near Manhattan Bridge. Yes, you hear city noise outside, and trains on the bridge pretty much constantly. But that didn't bother us as we're city folk anyway and were too knackered to care after spending our days out taking in the sights. Although not central, everywhere is accessible. There's a tour bus (City Loop) downtown stop pretty much opposite, but to go uptown you'll need to take a 10 minute walk to Broadway and catch it there. Otherwise, there's subway stations dotted around or take a taxi (although this can cost around $20 if the midtown/uptown traffic is busy, which it almost always is). Facilities are OK, but no fridge meant making tea with coffee whitener, which is sacrilege. No iron too, but that wasn't too much of an issue if you pack well and hang your stuff. Only real gripes are that the safe was small (about 3" deep, we managed to get a small hybrid laptop and a couple of tablets in) and the WiFi was rubbish in our room but better in our son's. Luckily there was a network cable. Rooms were spotless, staff were polite and helpful. Didn't take the breakfast because hot dog vendors.

"New York Weekend with Mom"
Needed a last minute hotel and didn't want to spend a fortune. This hotel was perfect. Chinatown was a great place to stay. The sites and sounds of a different culture were awesome. The hotel is across the street from a park and we got to watch Tai Chi every morning. There is a subway station on the next block so it is super convenient to get around without having to use cabs. The free breakfast was a great money saver every day. The staff was very helpful and eager to help. Planning on going back in September and will be staying here again.

"Great view!"
I stayed here for 2 nights and then a further 8 nights. I was given a room upgrade to a high level room with a fantastic view east and north. Was amazing at night. Room wasn't very different to the other one, in fact the bathroom wasn't as big but overall my stay was very comfortable and enjoyable and I appreciated the room upgrade. My only very small criticism was that there was no iron and ironing board in the room but they were available when you asked; there was also no top flat sheet on the bed, just a fitted sheet and doona - very European but not comfortable and very unusual for the US. However, this was supplied on request. Staff were very obliging and pleasant. The garden where you can get a drink and small plates was also great.

"Excellent Location, Friendly and Helpful Staff"
The hotel didn't "wow" us at first, but soon we realized how good it was. It's located on the second floor of an office building at the corner of Grand Ave and Bowery. There are two glass doors on the first floor, and a hallway leading to elevators that take you to the second floor lobby. The lobby is small and rather plain, but the staff (Nathan and Hugh in particular) are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about NYC attractions and the subway system. The hotel appears to have been remodeled recently, and we were very impressed with our room, which had hardwood floors and tile in the bathroom. We had a view of the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings from our room, and the view from the gym (located on the top floor) is amazing. The housekeeping staff was friendly, and the hotel was meticulously clean. The air conditioning, TV, and everything else in the room worked perfectly, and the beds were comfy. The TV even had a "clean" remote, the first one I'd ever seen. I was in NYC for a week of sightseeing with my kids, and we did nearly all of our traveling by subway. The hotel's location is within a few blocks of a number of subway stations, which is excellent. We'd often see an attraction after breakfast, return to our room for an hour or two in the afternoon, and then head out to another attraction in the evening. Having a hotel room in Manhattan and close to the subway was fantastic. We were there for a week and I highly recommend it, a great value!
