Pros: Safe; delicious breakfast; other meals by request. English speaker staff arranged tours; others, taxis. Pleasant staff, lovely garden. Airport service.
Cons: Nothing on exact time; requested blanket 2x. Pool not yet clean; no place to sit easily outdoors. Best if speak some Spanish/French, fine otherwise
Location: On pleasant residential street; 7-10 minutes walk to archaeological museum; 10 minutes ride in other direction to town.

Good hotel, great breakfast!Posted Jun 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Easter Island isn't cheap, let's just start there. This was one of the less expensive hotels on the island and it was a great place to stay. Staff were friendly, and a couple spoke English really well. Breakfast was wonderful and abundant (coffee, tea, fresh juice, eggs, fruit, cheese, three types of meat, toast, fried bread, home made doughnuts) which helps when meals on Easter Island can easily cost $75 / couple without trying. The rooms are simple, but comfortable, with hot showers. There is a nice pool, although it was quite cold while we were here (June). The hotel is a bit of a walk from the centre of town (about 15 minutes) and 10 minutes to the water. It's in an easy location to get to everything, but there are a lot of other hotels right on the main street. We'd definitely stay here again, given the chance.

Nice room, but would have been nice with working de-humidifier, as well as more trash cans in room. Also, no light in bathroom.

Authentic experiencePosted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
My daughter and I ventured out to Easter Island. I was looking for comfortable, safe, and affordable lodging with free wifi and breakfast. We were not disappointed. The staff at Chez Marie went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make the most of our time. Their friendly smiles, good food, and fellowship were some of our favorite parts of the trip! If you're looking for swanky, I'm not sure you will find it anywhere on the island. But if you're looking for clean and comfortable - the Chez Marie is a good choice.

Friendly hotel atmospherePosted Apr 16, 2013
Pros: safe and secure environment, very friendly and helpful staff
Location: Just outside the center of Hanga Roa, within 10 minute walking distance. Super close to the perfect sunset spot on the entire island.
Very comfortable and friendly, peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and warm and friendly and made me feel very welcome. I was traveling alone and did feel like I had a home away from home in some way.
