Close to townPosted Jan 3, 2014
Pros: The staff. Since I missed two days, they rescheduled my tours for me. They are so welcoming.
Cons: The decor. The hotel is outdated.
Location: The hotel is a short five minute walk from everything, yet quiet. Great spot.
The rooms are simple and clean. The staff is incredibly accommodating and helpful. I missed my flight and was two days in arriving. Without requesting a refund of any kind, they gave me credit; solely based on their fairness. They are honest, curteous and hardworking.

Great all around hotel experiencePosted Oct 7, 2012
Pros: Location and service
Location: Convenient to everything
Beautiful location overlooking the sea, convenient to town, shopping, and restaurants. We stayed in one of the bungalows and it was comfortable and well equipped. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. Tap water completely drinkable. Nice bar - great pisco sours - and restaurant. Food was excellent. At different times we ate both lunch and dinner as well as the ample breakfast included as part of the room rate. Staff was helpful and arranged tours were fabulous. Can't say enough good things about the hotel. Wonderful stay.

Great location, but disappointing accommodationsPosted Jul 8, 2012
The location is perfect - just a couple minutes to the heart of Hanga Roa and only a few minutes walk to several moai. Understanding that this island is extremely remote, we didn't expect perfection from the hotel condition. That being said, the bathrooms were not clean with many mouldy spots in the shower and around the window. After our room was cleaned it smelled like a bottle of Febreeze had been sprayed, which makes you wonder what they are hiding... Our flight had us arriving very early in the morning, but the hotel would not let us check in early even though the room was ready. The buffet breakfast was severely lacking - bread was stale, cooked items were inedible and the fruit looked like it had been sitting out for days.

Good hotelPosted Aug 28, 2011
The Taha Tai Hotel is in a great location - near to the main street with an array of good restaurants, but also by the sea. Only a few rooms take advantage of the great sea views, but the dining room and bar have good views. Rooms are clean and tidy, breakfast is pretty good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This is not a flash hotel - Ranga Nui is not a glitzy place - but it is comfortable and good value for money on the island. They help to arrange daily excusions which is also good. I'd happily stay here again.
