Great hotelPosted Jan 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very nice, clean and modern rooms in a great location - just a 5 to 10 minute walk from The Boardwalk (with shops and restaurants). Would definitely stay there again.

Superb hotel for the Ironman South Africa eventPosted Aug 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is one of the best 4 star hotels I've ever stayed in. Usually hotel rooms make me feel homesick but our rooms was so beautifully decorated and that made me feel at home. the hotel and the room were spotless and this is something I'm very particular about. The breakfast and dinners were all buffet style but with a lot to choose from and a varied menu in the evenings. I follow a special gluten free diet and had no lack of choices. Do hire a car if you plan to go on safaris and explore the garden route like we did. This was our first time in South Africa and we also walked around the surrounding streets and felt very safe. the boardwalk shopping centre is within walking distance and the Hobbie beach as well. There is a Jacuzzi sized pool on the hotel roof which is lovely for some private sunbathing

Pros: The to die for views
Cons: I don.t have any
Location: Within easy walking distance to wonderful shopping centre, casinos and restaurants. Safe, romantic walks along the beach.
I could not fault this hotel, the room was luxurious overlooking Nelson Mandela Bay, It was like having all my dreams come true. The bed was gigantic . The staff were friendly and attentive at all times , the restaurant was superb with so much choice and everything cooked to perfection. There is nothing to dislike and I had such a good stay here.

Comfortable hotelPosted Jan 15, 2013
Pros: The location at a calm part of town a little south of the agitation.
Cons: Expensive breakfast.
Location: Port Elizabeth is an interesting city to spend a day or two, while visiting the beaches around it.
The hotel rooms were clean, but the shower leaves the bathroom floor all wet. Breakfast was way too expensive, but the overall experience was pleasant enough to recommend the hotel. Tip: have breakfast at the next block's Kaffeine Café, at the mall.

Location: on the beach on the beach on the beach.incredible view
2nd time I've stayed here. They treat their guests with the upmost respect, and great service. Even when I had an informal get together in the lobby,Xolani came over from the bar and insisted on serving us tea.Great attention to detail as well.It is a reflection of a well managed Protea.
