I loved the 5 Gables. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about local restaurants.~There are free bikes to use to ride around St. Michaels ( a pleasure to do) ~ Complimentary water, cofee & tea s available throughout the day.

“Lovely Getaway!”

Five Gables was a great place to stay for our quick one year anniversary get-away to St. Michaels. The staff was really nice & helpful, the room was beautiful and had an awesome balcony, and the pool/sauna/steamroom was a great amenity.

We had a quiet retreat enjoying the water and the calm atmosphere- the hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable- no complaints. The local restaurant food was good too!

Didn't like that all the shops closed at 5:00pm.

“Innovative decor”

Suite was comfortable, spacious and with interesting decor. Only downside was modest breakfast fare, for the area it was excellent value.

Great location on the main strip, thought the street behind it looked a little bit 'hood. Odd for St. Michaels. Probably a better place to go once they're up and running for the year. Cute breakfast room. Overall, superfically very nice, but lacking on the little details. Perfect when I didn't have my glasses on! -Sauna didn't get hot enough. -Hot tub in room didn't work. -No screen door = occasional bugs. -No bikes (not taken out for the season yet, even though it was a gorgeous spring weekend). -Slightly leaky shower, dusty corners. -Only one night stand. I'd come back, but not at those prices (which were off-season). None of the stuff was a dealbreaker or made it a bad stay (though the hot tub was a bummer), and the room was nicely appointed. I would recommend it to others, though. Just manage your expectations.
