“A very good place to stay”

The Holiday Inn in Chestertown, MD was one of the best of the chain I have stayed at. The staff was friendly and professional, very efficient too. The room we got was really nice, looked brand new and very clean. It was very comfortable too. We arrived early and got checked in immediately. Not only that, but we needed to leave a day earlier than our reservation and there was no problem at all, we got a refund for the night we did not stay. The hotel is excellent, they have convenient and adequate parking, it is close to the historical downtown. I would definitely stay there again.

Our room at this hotel was terrific--nice size, very clean, good bathroom and very comfortable bed. In contrast to other hotels of this level that I have stayed at, the room configuration lent itself to quiet, and the doors didn't slam automatically, which also really helped. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful, even though it was a busy weekend. The location was convenient, right off a major road and next to a grocery-anchored shopping center, which we used. If I had two areas for improvement, it would be to have a small freezer area in the in-room refrigerator (we wanted to re-freeze our cool paks) and to open up for breakfast earlier than 7am on weekends. We were there for an event and had to leave by 6:30--they did have coffee available so thanks! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others if they happen to be in this area.

For all you parents and alumni coming into town to visit the college, definitely stay at the new Holiday Inn. It is by far the nicest hotel with every amenity you can imagine and more. You will not be disappointed!

“Holiday Inn Chestertown”

This is a relatively new Holiday Inn, and all areas of the building were well maintained and in excellent condition. The front desk attendant was very polite during check in and provided assistance with local information. The only drawback to this location is that all parking is in the rear of the building, and the elevator is in the front. The breakfast was well presented and included an automatic pancake maker. Our two queen bed room included a side chair, desk and office chair, 32" LCD TV, and a platform for suitcases. The bathroom was fully stocked with towels and supplies, coffee maker, and hair dryer. The room also included a nice sized refrigerator and microwave. The air conditioner was located under the window, and the thermostat was digital which provided accurate control. We did briefly take advantage of the free wifi access. We did not use the indoor pool or business center. We will stay at this hotel again in the future.

“Power went out for several hours - no refund given by manager”

The room was very nice and clean. However, the power in the entire hotel went out for several hours when it was completely booked with guests. Most of the guests, like my husband and I, were getting ready for a wedding in the dark with absolutely no power. I asked the front desk what they were doing to compensate for it and was told call back and speak to a manager the following day. I called back and was informed nothing was being done about it.

The Holiday Inn was very clean. Beds were also very comfortable. The location was quiet.
