Not worth the money...

Posted Sep 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Tidewater Inn is a historic property and it shows. While the common areas of the hotel are beautifully maintained, the rooms are dated and left a lot to be desired. The walls were extremely thin, so one could hear people in the hallway and doors slamming as people get in and out of their rooms from your own floor as well as on the floor above and below you. There were barely any decorations in the room, nor were there any amenities-- no water, no coffee or tea, nothing. Breakfast is not included, and I would not recommend the tavern attached to the hotel. All in all, it was a big disappointment after reading all the great reviews. For the price and the (nonexistent) service at Tidewater, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Beautifully maintained historic hotel

Loved the area and neighborhood around the hotel. So many restaurants and shops to visit, everything is walkable. Our room was clean and comfortable. It is a smaller hotel room then you normally find but the bed was comfy and large for a queen size. Bathroom is small but has been renovated. Nice selection of soaps and freebies. The decor is lovely and has a touch of charm. Front desk staff were very pleasant. Hotel was busy as they were hosting a wedding the evening that we were there. Tip - ice machines and snacks are located on the 2nd floor by the conference rooms

Un saut dans le passé mais avec des prestations actuelles. Très bon couchage, possibilité de parking. Ne pas manquer le petit déjeuner servi dans le restaurant.

Lovely historic building.

Pros: Very clean, very comfortable bed, nice pub.
Cons: Parking was challenging. No fitness facilities.
Location: Close to St. Michael's, nice galleries and shops in walking distance.
Arrived for a family event, not at hotel. Pub had good food, staff very courteous and helpful. Rooms on the small size, but to be expected in an older building. Very clean. Only issue was difficulty parking on Saturday night, as the hotel was hosting a wedding.

Perfect escape

Posted Aug 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed 2 nights on our way to a week vacationing Ocean City, MD. It was a perfect getaway in a very relaxing place. The hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of everyplace. Lots of wonderful restaurants and cute shops right outside the door. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar, too. We had a queen suite and it even had two bathrooms which was great so we could both get ready at the same time. Very comfortable and very roomy. The staff was all very nice and helpful with lots of local information. We love Easton and can't wait to go back. Last year was our first visit and we stayed at a very expensive B&B. This trip was better because of our accomodations. We will definitely stay at the Tidewater Inn again.

DEFINITELY NOT Worth the Money

Posted Aug 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
No, no, no is all we heard at Tidewater Inn. We got a discount rate of $160 that after taxes and fees was $185 or so. Room was cramped and had double beds with shoddy mattresses. Bathroom was so small I had a thought in there and had to step into the hall to change my mind. Room booked for 4 had 2 towel sets and when I called front desk to ask for more was told no housekeeper available and front desk clerk could maybe bring them up but not any time soon. When I offered to come get them myself, he gladly accepted. Went down on way out to dinner and saw a stack of towels there and told clerk I'd pick them up on the way back. When we arrived, both he and the towels were gone. Never saw him or the towels again and we went without. This place is way to thinly staffed and the staff is not very professional. The service at breakfast at the Tavern was abysmal. Guy next to us had to stop multiple staff to get coffee refill and then later to get his check picked up despite sparse patrons. Our waitress actually told my young son NO to hard boiled eggs -- despite the menu item reading "Eggs Your Way". NO late check out because they were expecting a (more important that us) wedding party next day. NO room service and their Tavern and fancy restaurant close at 9pm. NO housekeeping staff available. This place should close and re-open as a wedding venue.
