Wonderful stay
We enjoyed our stay very much. Staff was excellent and friendly. Room was spacious. Very clean. Only 10 minute walk to town on a bike/walk path. Restaurant menu limited but delicious. One of better breakfasts I have had. Hotel is older and quaint. I enjoy well maintained older hotels as I think they have character.

Get a Face Lift
The service from the front desk was fine and Carmen was exceptionally nice and helpful. However the room and bathroom definitely need an up to date upgrade since the cabinets and bathroom were literally falling apart, the sink drain didn't open and the deck furniture looked like it came from an old garage sale in Appalacia.

A great place to stay in Lugano, very friendly personnel, great food including breakfast. It offers great views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. It is a short walk to the lake and the city. We will definitely come back...

Very nice hotel. It is a little too far from the bus station on a hillside. Hard to find as their location is not visibly marked in the area. Walking up the hill was a little too much sometimes. Otherwise, a very nice hotel with a friendly staff. Great View from the room, too.

This hotel is in a great location and is walkable to down town. On site parking and breakfast were convenient. Rooms have excellent views and staff are very friendly.

You've booked a standard room, which is the most cozy room. Other solutions are obviously bigger. It's just a matter of ratio between price and quality. The room was very small and old looking. For a four star hotel I was expecting a much better breakfast. The cappuccino was awful and so was the carrot cake. The waiter used the word ‘cazzo’ I do not want to seem too fussy, but the overall quality of the hotel was three stars and I definitively overpaid it.

Hiking in the Dolomites
Great service at this alpine style hotel with great views and a spacious terrace. It’s about a 10 minute walk above the heart of town but quiet and more roomy as a result. We did two amazing hikes while here and used the local Dolomiti bus to get there both times. Front desk was very helpful in arranging onward travel. Good value given that it is peak season in the Dolomites.
Tre Croci trail, a 15 minute bus ride from town.

Fantastic hotel, great location & friendly staff!
Fantastic hotel! Just a few minutes walk to the city centre, makes it perfect for a quiet break! Super friendly staff. Hotel might need some upgrade soon, but still can’t complain. Very generous breakfast, and free parking at hotel garage. Room was spacious with plenty of storage, and had nice view of the mountains. Will surely be back!

Hotel Villa Blu
Our third time at Villa Blu, all for the Cortina trail. It's a great location, just outside of the centre but an easy walk in. Comfortable rooms with some stunning views.

3D View of the Dolomites
We stayed for 2 nights in Cortina after haven stayed in Bolzano for 2 nights. Looking back, we should have skipped Bolzano all together and stay all 4 days in Cortina. The area is incredibly beautiful and the hotel is exactly how we like it, not in the city center so it is quiet but close enough that we really enjoyed the 15 minutes walk to the "city". The views amazing, the service at the front desk was great. They gave us some great recommendations for hiking and areas not to be missed. The only drawback was that breakfast only included boiled eggs and I requested 2 eggs sunny side up (fried) and they did not tell me that the was an extra charge and they charged us $8 euros for 2 eggs. Plus, all the hotels we stayed during this trip included the additional style of eggs made to order without a charge so this $8 charge was a turn off for us. If management is reading, I would recommend not to nickle and dime, that was a very bad taste when everything was going so perfectly. Make sure to get a room with the Dolomites view. As to the bed, it was your typical uncomfortable bed and pillow so will not ding them for that. Almost every hotel we stayed at made me wake up with a sore back until moving around and loosing it :-). The pictures are a good representation of what to expect. Overall, we loved it because of the view, the location away from the city center but yet close by, the hospitality and free parking. I would go back again!

We had a great time staying in Cortina at this hotel! The views were amazing, it was within walking distance to the town, and everyone was very friendly. The only thing we didn’t like was that we were asked to leave the hotel room key in the lobby whenever we left the building. This didn’t seem very secure to us, as anyone could ask for the room key. We had an amazing time and hope to visit again!

This is a super hotel in a lovely setting. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The buffet breakfast was great. They provided a bus to go to the slopes. There's a 15 minute walk down an off road track to get into town. It has a large underground car park with a ski and boots storage room. Will definitely be going back.

Great spot. Excellent service and fantastic breakfast. Rooms are a bit old...but clean and comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was great...again fantastic service.

Nice and clean hotel with excellent views from the room balcony. Very helpful staff, full breakfast and nice dinner entrees though on a rather expensive side. However, you get what you paid for. Bar opened through the day. Extensive wine list with a beautiful 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella. Highly recommended.

Character often comes with age
When we arrived we were welcomed warmly and assisted with our luggage and immediately shown to our room. It was very cold outside but as expected our room was warm and cosy and we had a nice fruit basket awaiting us. We had a corner room with a balcony that afforded us the most beautiful views of the town and mountains. What we missed and would have loved was the facility to have a nice cup of coffee and tea made in our room after our long trip. This facility though small will make a huge difference as you do not always want to go down to the bar or lounge just for that. We had the fortunate opportunity to meet the GM and have a nice drink with him and he made us feel even more welcome. We always take a flask with us when we do long trips and the barman was so kind to fill it with hot water for us end even deliver it to our room himself. We had excellent service right through our stay and we need to compliment the staff and management for that. Whatever information we needed was given to us immediately and in a very friendly manner. As with most hotels in Italy we found that English was still a bit of a challenge and misunderstandings can take place and I therefore advise to double check whether the message was understood so that all parties are on par. As far as their amenities are concerned we loved their free shuttle service downtown and their free wi-fi signal was good in the rooms. We loved their policy of no wi-fi in the dining room. Breakfast variety was good!

Excellent, efficient and friendly service.
The hotel was a perfect base for a short skiing holiday. Although it is a short walk from the town centre (and taxis VERY expensive), the free shuttle bus provides an easy route to the bus station and town centre. It is also a short walk along a scenic disused rail track. The hotel itself is very comfortable with a lot of charm - and small enough that the service is personal and friendly. Views from the rooms are stunning and breakfast hearty enough to start even the most arduous day's skiing.

The room was small and the furnishings a bit tatty. The wifi reception was erratic and very annoying. Staff were efficient and charming. Overall the hotel was not up to the standard indicated by the cost.
