“As good as you can expect from an old motel”

Typical small motel from the 50's?? Well maintained and clean but not updated. Extremely friendly service. Not exactly the greatest location unless you want to be right near the fair grounds.

“Will Definitely Return!”

We stayed at The Birchwood Motel just for 1 night but have already planned to return. Our stay began with a very warm welcome, continued with a view of the ponies and a beautiful sunset over the pier, and ended with a clean, comfortable room. What a perfect way to spend an anniversary!

Area recommendations
Anywhere on Chincoteague - as well as Assateague Beach. Laid back, beautiful wildlife, nature, shops, restaurants.

“Very nice”

Exceptionally friendly and helpful owners made my stay one of the most enjoyable I've had. Motel is not new, but care in upkeep and renovation is obvious. Definitely recommended.

“Impressed”

Usually I try to avoid "motels" and will pay more for a hotel stay, however this stay was much better than expected. It is clean and well maintained. In fact they are just finishing renovations. It is a small motel and the couple who runs the place are extremely nice, any hesitations I had were immediately relieved when we checked in due to their warm welcome. The motel room was roomy enough, clean, quiet and in a great location and the price was right.

“Great Experience”

I have been going to Chincoteague with my family for years, and had driven past this place many times. I was looking for a place to stay one night, and my expectations were extremely low. I was very impressed with the renovated rooms, but more than that, with the friendly, family-like atmosphere that the owners conveyed. I would definitely stay there again.
