“Watchout for the free breakfast”

Hotel was very nice, clean, and did'nt smell like alot of hotels do. We have stayed here before and the proximity to the refuse and the beach are great. Only bad thing was the free breakfast @ "That Mexican Place" Cold, bad food, dirty building and disgusting bathrooms. We skipped the free voucher and paid for a breakfast buffet at Marias. Overall, very satisfied with hotel.

“Good hotel”

I've stayed here before. They have good, everyday rooms. Not real fancy, just basic good rooms. As close as you can get to Assateague National Wildlife Refuge.

“A nice spring vacation”

Really enjoyed this hotel. Not the fanciest, but surprisingly clean for being so close to the beach. The staff was friendly and the included breakfast at Maria's makes this an incredible value.

rates were good-room a little small, but it worked for us. Breakfast included each morning at local restaurant-great buffet. overall hotel stay was most enjoyable.

“Good Deal for the price”

The hotel is centrally located. Lots of stores within walking distance (bring mosquito spray). Only real drawback to the hotel was the room says no smoking on the door, but it obviously used to be a smoking room. You could notice it as soon as you walked in. The two horses on site are nice but you can't get close enough to pet them and your not allowed to feed them (whats the point of having them?). Very nice picnic area on site with plenty of gas grills and cookers provided to use. Pool is very clean but only goes to 5 foot depth. The breakfast buffet is actually at a restaurant a little over a mile away. Considering your not paying for it, its not that bad. You do get charged for your drinks though. One other thing, Most of the pictures on expedia for this hotel are from another hotel. When you consider the price, its a good deal.

“Best deal on Chincoteague Island”

The people at the hotel were very friendly. The inn was located about as close as you can get to Assateague Island which made for easy access. If we had known how close, we would have used bikes instead of the car. There were hammocks in front of the inn, near the pony that stayed at the inn. On the down side, the beds were very hard which did not make a restful sleep. The temperature in the room was difficult to regulate as it always seemed muggy and humid no matter how cool the temperature was. Another down side of the room was lack of places to put suitcases. Our room didn't have any of the fold up luggage stands that are usually available in hotels. Aside from that, it was clean. It felt like we traveled back in time about 25 years. I don't remember the last time I used a real key to get into my hotel room, but I did here!

“Good location, nice hotel”

Good hotel for a budget traveller, good location ja neighbourhood. They had pool, ponies, free coffee and free wifi on the site. However, they are offering breakfast in a nearby restaurant and they should change that, beacuse the food was really awful. The room was basically clean and nice, but had a musty smell in it that stuck to all our clothes. I think this is beacuse they not have enough ventilation and you could not open windows. But still, I could go back, because of the pool and free wifi and the location. The staff was friendly and helpful.

“Won't return until updated doors & rooms”

The Blue Heron looks nice from the outside, pool is decent, Staff is extremely friendly. As you go back the hall to your room, it is musty, doors are paper thin, still use key to get in them and everything is old!!! Our microwave was rusty and room still smelled like cigarette smoke. The beds were not comfortable at all. The only plus is the free breakfast @ Marias restaurant

“No Smoking Rooms Betray Years of Smoke”

The smell in the rooms was nothing short of suffocating. Not much more to say.
