Not the Hilton

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: economical
Cons: room fridge didn't have freezer section
Location: Close to Assateague Island national park, close to bike rental and nice diner.
Good basic hotel if you don't plan on hanging out there. Furnishings have weird colors, but it looks like they are in the process of upgrading. Place just needs general maintenance work.

Pros: Close to the beach
The room was not suited well for a family of four. Very small room that was hard for to adults and two small children to move around in. Other than that, the beds were comfortable, but could not have stayed there multiple nights.

Good place to stay

Location: Ponies, beach, geocaching and park! Never boring.
Great staff, pool, playground. Even ponies on the grounds to drool over! Rooms were a bit small, but I get the idea that's common on the island.

Great value and location

Love the location- practically at the entrance for Assateague National Park and walking to dining and shopping. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was nothing to rave about. Room was small, but adequate for a quick get-away.

Nice hotel near the National Park and seashore.

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: I liked the location for riding bikes and enjoying the beach.
Cons: The breakfast food was OK.
Location: The beach and National Park are very nice.
The hotel is in the middle of remodeling. The room was nice but small and the appliances were not replaced yet. The desk clerk told us the hotel was replacing the appliances after they finish the painting and other replacement items.

An Okay spot

Posted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: Location and convenience
Cons: Conditions of rooms, especially the heating/air conditioning units. The exhaust fan in the bathroom, as well as the vanity needs replaced.
Location: the wildlife reserve is just a bridge away; the restaurants are close; there are beach and marina facilities close by.
The facilities are convenient to every thing you want to see and do on this island, as well Asseteque, and Wallops Island. The building is in need of updating, and that is being done - slowly. The room heating and ac units are terrible. I needed heat, but not the uncontrolled amount the unit gave out. The breakfast was adequate, but certainly limited.
