“Great buy in Chincoteague”

Better than we expected! It's not a glamorous spa but it's clean, the staff is friendly, and the views are beautiful. We are birders so we don't spend much time in the room anyway. The price was so reasonable through Expedia. We will definitely go back.

“Wonderful Surprise”

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend at the Waterside Inn. What a wonderful surprise! Located right on the water, our private balcony offered stunning sunset views. Combined with the firendly, accommodating staff, our stay was fabulous. We will definitely return!

“Great Hotel or the Price”

Just got back from a Girls' Weekend Away at the Waterside Inn. The owners/hotel staff are great - freindly, personable and always willing to answer questions or make suggestions. The rooms are not the newest or upscale, but they are clean and have everything you need. We said it was more like staying at your Aunt's than staying in a hotel. Beautiful water views and sunsets, small waterside pool and great dock/pier with tables to enjoy the relaxed bayside experience. Continental breakfast included -egg "omelette" was kind of sketchy (a little cheese would have gone a long way to help it), but if you take your meal out on the dock... it tastes a whole lot better. No gym, but walk out the front door and turn right. The sidewalk is perfect for a walk or run along the waterfront and a chance to get a real feel for the natural charm of the island homes. Walking distance to shops and restaurants (go left). Short drive to Assateague Island for a relaxing day on the beach. You're bound to see dolphins. Props to the folks at Glamour Nails for accomadating us for post-beach pedicures. Very relaxing, laid back feeling to the hotel and the Island. What sums it up is the answer to my question of where we should go for dinner if we don't want anything too fancy... "Honey, this is the island - there's nothing too fancy." We left relaxed... and plan to return.

“best on the island”

We had been to Chincoteague several times but this was our first time to stay at Waterside and we will be back. Great location close to everything, but on quite street on the water. From our hotel we were able to bike, kayak, fish, crab and go for a run. Really appreciated the grill and pot they loaned us to cook our own seafood at the dock while we watched the sunset. Exercise room equipment could use some newer equipment, but we didn't go there for that. I would highly recommend it.

“Great Waffles!”

The view of the sunset from the little balcony was beautiful. The location on the channel is very nice It is a very quiet, peaceful island. Of course, we were there in the early spring, I am sure it gets much busier in the summer. The outdoor pool looked nice but it was too cold for us to go in. The entrance to the room is all tiled and the tile continues directly to the bathroom and shower, which worked out great for wet, sandy kids coming back from the beach. Nice, big flat panel TVs. The decor and furniture was a little dated. You must get the made to order waffles in the lobby for breakfast, so good! There is a nice little table and chair area set up there for continental breakfast. Great family-run place, if we ever go to that island again we will stay at that hotel again.

The hotel is very clean and very well taken care of. The people are nice and the pool outside is heated. You can also relax by the bay. The balconies really have a view over the Chincoteague channel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Waterside Inn. The staff was very friendly. It rained but we were looking for somewhere relaxing and found it. The only real complaint were the beds. They were so hard that our backs hurt when we got up in the mornings. The room was very clean and even with the rain on Friday we still had a nice view of the sunset. The rest of the weekend was cloudy so not anymore sunsets but it was still very peaceful and pretty. If you are looking for a nice relaxing place without a lot going on this is the place. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Desk staff was very helpful, recommended wonderful restaurant for dinner. Room was clean and spacious. Loved the balcony, great view. Close to Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge.
