Well located if visiting Ryman Retirement Village or Beetham Retirement Village & across the road from Gisborne Hospital. Spacious, clean accommodation & Art the owner was very welcoming & happy for us to check in early as we had a function to attend at 1.30pm.

Cosy but dirty
I was greeted with a smile which was nice. Unfortunately, the room was not very clean at all. The room smelt like someone had literally just been cooking in there, there was hair in the bathroom basin, hairs on the sheets of the bed, dry jiff on the stainless steel bench (at least I knew that was clean though), the skirting birds were almost black. I slept on top of towels with socks and a hoody on my head due to the hairs found in my bed. Very disappointing as the room itself was nice and had a cosy feeling to it. Also had someone try to open my door twice, once around 10p.m. second was around 10.30p.m. I was staying there by myself therefore I did not want to investigate by going outside by myself. I just slept with an inside light on for the night. Photos attached.

Hi Thank you for your feedback.We humbly apologise for the room not being in perfect order for you. We had two of our cleaners off sick and we had no other option to get two contract cleaners in, and this was unfortunatly a disaster.The situation has been rectified and all is back to normal.We do not know how the sheets got a hair on it as these are fresh sheets from the linen company.The skirting boards are in need of a paint. We are doing renovations, however we can only do one room at a time.Regarding someone trying your door we are at loss for words as perhaps it could have been the room next to you coming back from dinner .We would love to have you back here again with us.

The property was clean and comfortable, albeit a bit dated, with all the facilities needed for travelling with kids. Although I didn't use them, laundry facilities are free to use, which deserves a big thumbs up. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful too.

I'm one that likes some pressure in my shower and the pressure didn't quite hit the spot ...but... in saying that, everything else was excellent. My fiance and I sooo enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider staying here again.

The mattress on the double bed was essentially broken and after an period of trying to get to sleep finally moved to a single bed which was fine. Sleep is imperative for most and if important to you suggest you find somewhere else to stay

I really liked this motel. The photos on Expedia does not give justice to the room. The room is slot nicer than it looks. Everything was immaculate and the motel manager was very friendly and helpful.
