“really impressed with coach house”
stayed in coach house and was really impressed with building. a tasteful conversion with all mod cons and really well equipped with everything you could wish for. quality of accomodation 1st class and located in nice safe and quiet part of edinburgh in exclusive street but not too far from town centre. good welcome pack (wine, bread, milk etc... ) and information pack provided with recomendations where to visit , eat etc..... - All in all an execellent stay and would def recommend
“Fantastic & very helpful”
Impecably clean, modern place to stay with everything you could need. Very helpful staff who arranged a cake for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable stay, private and very quiet. Will definately stay there again. Nice location and near a bus route.
“Top quality apartments”
The apartment was definitely top quality. The size was the first thing we noticed, so much space for the six of us, each room with ample space. The quality of the refurbishment was excellent with only minor snags such as no toilet roll holder in the en suite and a loose tap. The only down side was the television reception was poor, and it was the only tv in the apartment. It would have been nice to have tv's in the bedrooms. The staff were very helpful and gave us directions we needed and offered help with taxi bookings. The welcome pack was very useful and gave us the basics for our first night although we found we needed to buy a tea towel as there didnt seem to have one in the apartment. There is allocated parking spaces but we found that other residents were using ours but we found there was plenty of space on the road which was not busy. We will definitely use these apartments in the future as it was a little lap of luxury for our short break.
“Luxury accomodation at affordable prices”
This is a great place to stay in Edinburgh particularly for a large group (there were 14 of us). Both the villa and cottage were impecable. The garden is a great bonus if you're lucky with the weather. Although in the suburbs it's a pleasant half hour walk from the city centre and easily and cheaply reached by taxi (about 5-7 pounds). Only minus the staff could have met us at the property- we had a problem locating our accomodation, finding the keys etc all in the pouring rain!
“Perfect for groups wanting luxury”
Thie was our second time to stay at Alba villas. Usually we stay at the Balmoral and enjoy luxury hotels, but we prefer the Alba when traveling with others. It is spacious, clean, well-decorated. The staff can accomodate almost any wish you have in terms of supplies, food, and act as concierge as well. Taxi service is efficient and reliable so the distance to city centre is not a problem. Whilst staying here over the week of New Year's celebrations, we were grateful to have been staying in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood as opposed to the crazy carnival atmosphere in city centre. Our only complaint tis that two of the beds in #62 were very hard.
“Cozy little cottage, a bit far from center”
We landed late evening and had difficulty locating the apartment. Once located, there was no reception/office so to speak. Finally we managed to call on the telephone number given. The lady on the other side was helpful. We located the keys and deactivated the alarm. Fould this part a bit strange (left the same way, so did not see a human face through the trip). Once we were in the apartment, we were bowled. A very nice, cozy apartment. Well equipped and just the right size for a couple or small family (we were with 2 small kids). The apartment is in a residential area but the main street is a 5-7 minute walk. We also managed to walk upto the Royal Mile. Takes about 20 minutes and is worth it.
