lovely hotel close to all amenities

Posted May 2, 2015
Pros: The decor, cleanliness, and friendly staff.
Cons: The check-in time. More choice at breakfast.
Location: Very good location for shopping in Princess Street, the castle and Arthur's seat.
I stayed in this hotel on 25/26th April on a business trip. The hotel is conveniently located just off Princess street, and can easily be reached from the airport by taking the 100 bus and getting off at Sandwick place around 25 mins later. I found the hotel decor to be quite beautiful and they have an interesting theme based around famous Scottish people and those of scottish origin (i.e. Rod Stewart). All the rooms are named after famous scots and include a giant size photo of them. I stayed in the Andy Murray room. I got upgraded from a single room which I very much appreciated. The breakfast was of a very good breakfast and wasn't included in my stay and I had to pay about £10 for a full scottish breakfast and a cup of tea. There are cheaper options available such as eggs benedict. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only slight negative about this hotel was the fact that the check-in time wasn't until 15.00, which meant that I was hanging around Edinburgh for a while before I could check-in. Most check-in times around 14.00.

The staff is wonderful and the hotel is in a great location. I also love how there was a hot water tea kettle in the room. My only negative was street noise was super loud at night and that combined with wind hitting something that clanged outside my window- found it hard to sleep.

Nice hotel. Good location.

This hotel is just off the popular Princes street so is well located for shopping and all transport links and a very short walk from the castle. Staff are very friendly and helpful. At one time, we did not have milk in the room for tea, and when we called reception, it was sent in minutes - even though, this was 1am! Tip: If you are coming by plane, take the tram to Princes street from the airport. Its v cheap and a lovely way to travel in to town.

Lovely comfortable hotel . Bar area very busy all day. No separate area for residents to relax and unwind . Found it difficult to get served .

A hidden gem!

Pros: The rooms were not only decorated in a fun quirky way, but they were also very new and felt very clean/
Cons: Only downside was the lift was a bit dodgy - I opted for the stairs :-)
Location: Perfect location, just round the corner from Princes Street and main shopping area. Nice bars and restaurants in vacinity too!
I stayed here on a recent business trip. I've been to Edinburgh many times before and wish I had know about Angel Share. Very funky, yet comfortable and elegant rooms. Felt like a more higher-end hotel yet had the personal touches and friendliness of a smaller hotel. The perfect stay and worth every penny!

Great Central Location

Posted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: Central; friendly; fantastic vibe.
Cons: Desk in room looked a little dirty; towel rail in bathroom was too hot.
Location: It's in the heart of the City. You can get to all the tourist spots from here by foot.
Cool hotel. Quirky and comfortable. I loved the Scottish famous people theme. The room was beautifully decorated although a little small but that's to be expected in central Edinburgh. Lovely furnishings, great hot chocolate and Tunnock's teacake! Would recommend.

Lovely but lacking.......

Posted Feb 2, 2015 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed a 2 night stay. Lovely hotel and location however, due to occupied chairs at the bar, we were left standing for some time before we were served and actually left the bar on one occasion to go elsewhere having stood for 15 minutes. A bit upsetting when we were actually paying guests there. It is a lovely hotel and obviously a popular one but we feel guests should be given priority.
