Trendy and central

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: Location, comfort, quietness, breakfast
Cons: Could look and feel lighter and airier
Well located and easy to find. Staff were welcoming. Decor was up to the minute, if a bit dark, so watch out for changes to floor levels. Fitments of good quality, although bathroom fitments were coming loose in places. Good breakfast.

Good location

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: The bar
Cons: Cleanliness of room.
Disappointed with hotel overall- room smelt damp, shower poor, room not clean, room was located directly above bar so was very noisy- which didn't bother us but might bother others. On a plus side the bar downstairs has a great atmosphere and live band playing on a Saturday night

Nice hotel, close to Old Town Edinburgh

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: The location was great and the staff very accommodating. Comfortable bed, nice bath, good value.
Location: Very close to the Old Town, Castle and Royal Mile, and Museums. Easy to see the sights on foot form the hotel.
The staff in reception went out of her way to make us comfortable, getting information about airport hotels for us and luggage storage options at the airport. We had made our reservation on line earlier in the day and were the last guests to arrive at 9pm. No problems checking in late and the restaurant was still open on the ground floor. We needed the window open to cool the room down and the rubbish trucks in the morning were quite noisy, but that's really part of being in the city. The room was small, but all the necessities were there including 'tea cakes' - the only place we had those on our Scottish vacation. It was very convenient to just walk to the Castle and Royal Mile in the morning. Check out at 11AM was convenient/

Great city centre location

Posted Oct 13, 2014
This hotel has a small boutique style feel with each room named after a famous Scot. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I had lunch and breakfast at the hotel and both very good and well presented. Very pleasnat bar adjointinf the hotel. The location is great, in the centre. I got the Airlink bus to and from the airport, the stop is just 3 mins from the hotel. Only stayed one night and was on business so not around to lounge in the hotel (of which there is little space for that).

Nice hotel, close to Scott monument and museums

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Stayed here after staying/visiting at their other properties of Tigerlily and Le Monde. This property is very nice for service and rooms are comfortable. Good location in town but getting to reception is silly as you have to go thru a restaurant and take an elevator to reception.

Angel share

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the luxury of the hotel from the room furnishings and decor to the extras made available to us. Staff service was excellent
Cons: Nothing could be improved.
This hotel has exceptional attention to detail, customer service and quality. Before we even got to the hotel the staff had ensured I had everything booked that I needed from breakfast to little extras in the hotel to make the stay first rate. Even though there are live bands playing downstairs you can't hear the noise and we had a great night's sleep. The little touches of luxury such as the toiletries and little teacakes made the difference. Checkout was simple by 11 am. and you get a long lie as breakfast is on until 12 noon. The hotel offered to keep our luggage for the day so we could stay in Edinburgh a little longer. Couldn't fault it and will definitely be back.

Convenient location outside historic city center

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Themed decor, contemporary style, remodeled bathroom, location, lobby bar and restaurant
Cons: Standard double beds are too small for a couple
Location: Convenient location outside the historic city center. Easy access to Princess Street, public transportation, shopping and restaurants.
Convenient hotel located outside the historic city center. Enjoyed the themed decor highlighting the many famous Scottish and British personalities. Rooms are modern, but a little cramped. Staff is very accommodating, WIFI works well, the bar and restaurant of the hotel are great!

Business trip to Edinburgh

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Lots of character and charm for the location and building - room was amazingly comfortable
Cons: Early morning noise from neighboring business' did prematurely wake me but that i think this comes with being in such a great central location
Location: Restaurants, parks and castle - all within walking distance - location was ideal!
Service was magnificent, room was very comfortable even in the uncharacteristically warm temperature and was very pleased with the features and stylings.
