It was a beautiful room, great location for the price, but one night, we saw a mouse run into our room. It ran underneath our door from the foyer and then under the bed couch.

The room looked nothing like the photos.
Firstly, no front desk. No lift, our room was downstairs and had to carry our luggage down. The room looked nothing like the photos and the pillows are quite crappy. Didn’t sleep well cause it’s not comfortable. But the room did have a kitchen, so it’s nice to be able to cook during our trip if we like. The bathroom doesn’t have a shower curtain or door so the water keeps getting outside. Overall, will not be staying here again. Quite disappointed with the price and misguided photos.

Winter Markets.
This was a short trip to visit the winter markets. The Grosvenor Suites are very handy for all the New Town shops, bars and restaurants. A short walk onto Princes Street and easy access to bus routes and Haymarket train ststion. As always the apartment was clean and warm with staff calling every day to check if i needed anything.

Disappointing and Misleading
This stay was quite disappointing and misleading. There was no notification that parking is metered (at £4.60 per hour, with a 4 hour limit) from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, only that there is no on-site parking. Non-permit parking spaces are extremely limited and at the end of the street. Although the lobby area is nicely decorated and in good condition, there was no indication that there would be 76 stairs to climb to get to our room. This many stairs should be noted on the listing, not just a note that there are no lifts. I could understand maybe 20, but 76 is ridiculous. The room itself was misrepresented as having a sofa and dining table, which it had neither. The kitchen was basically a closet and not user-friendly. There is a hob with 2 burners tucked in the corner, making it difficult to cook. Only one pan at a time could be used. There were 2 barstools at the counter, but appliances had to be moved to use the space to eat. The microwave and counters needed to be cleaned before we could use them as there was leftover food crumbs and splatters. The bathroom was nice, but the door was very difficult to shut. The towel heater did not work. Some lights did not work in the main part of the room. The bed was comfortable and there was a nice iron and ironing board. I attempted to contact the office to discuss issues, but there was no answer during working hours. I was able to contact the emergency number, but the man was not much help (although nice

No lift in the building - climbing to the top floor with heavy luggage was hard. No air con and windows only open slightly. We stayed during a heatwave and the room was stinking hot. I know the weather in Scotland is usually cool, but for summer aircon should be working. We confirmed a late 12pm checkout, and had to go to the sister property to leave our bags there for the day because there is no reception desk at this property. Once we checked out, we did a few things and headed there closer to 1pm. When we got to reception the first thing the girl said was that’s a really late check out? I said we confirmed a late 12 pm check out and she replied ye but it’s 1pm! I then told her we checked out at 12 and she repeated ye but it’s 1pm. She said it as though I can’t read the time or that I was lying. I then had to explain to her that we checked out at 12, we did a few things and then went to drop our bags. I had to tell her that housekeeping was there at 11:50 and she can check with them before she dropped the subject. Regardless it was none of her business what we were up to in the time after we checked out. If it’s such an issue for them to believe what time guests checked out maybe they should employ some checkout police at that property. It was unnecessary and rude and we made to feel like we were lying and had done something wrong when in fact we had done nothing wrong. Definitely will never stay there again because of the way she made us feel.

Spent the weekend in room 16 .. 74 steps to climb to get to room which was not expected but hey ho here we go lol .. beautiful looking house inside and out .. apart from they still have Christmas decorations up at the doorway ..but overall it was ok and comfortable enough .. but overpriced compared to others

The size of the room is good but we could not sleep any night as the pillows are the most uncomfortable pillows we ever had. Also one of the sofas and some chairs where stained everywhere, very disgusting. No ametities, only gel and shampoo.

Great stay, but get ready for stairs
Very nice stay at the Grosvenor. The room was very spacious with a small but well equipped kitchenette. Beautiful views over the park in the crescent and down to Haymarket. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. The only downside was being on the 2nd floor with no lift. As we were travelling with our toddler, this meant carrying the stroller up and down the stairs multiple times a day. Other than that, no complaints about our stay!

Great way to explore Edinburgh
You check-in using a code, the process is really easy, but make sure that your phone is fully charged. The staff who clean the building and change the bedding are really polite and welcoming. The room was nice, with some need for visible repair, but all in all it was a pleasant stay. The hotel is in an ideal location and most things are in walking distance. I would definitely go back.

Very hard to get in touch with anyone from reception. I rang several times one day and couldn’t get a response. There is no front desk or reception at the suites. This is something that should have been more clearly communicated on the booking site. Room was acceptable. A bit cold. Bed was adequate. Good location. An alarm went off the one morning which meant I had to get up and leave the suite. It was very loud and again nobody in the building to manage it.

Excellent location and comfy bed, only issues I had with my room was that the wardrobe was broke and the shower would turn on and off while trying to use it. Other than that I really enjoyed the hotel room and would actually book it again :)

Grosvenor Suites - A hotel or an apartment?
This accommodation is overall quite confusing. I’ll try and break down my observations into pros and cons with a conclusion at the end: Pros: - location is pretty much spot on, easy transport links and only a 20 minute or so walk from the city centre. - The exterior and communal interior of the building are stunning. High ceilings, chandeliers, huge banisters! - The building is on a very quiet residential street - We loved the keyless entry, using codes instead, easy and convenient! - The bed was incredibly comfortable, and a high standard. - The shower was of high specification Cons: - There is no reception so no way of contacting anyone. We ran out of toilet roll, and couldn’t reach anyone through the online messaging system through hotels.com or via the out of hours phone number. We had to purchase our own, which I would not expect to do at a hotel. - Although the kitchenette was generally well stocked, we had no mugs for hot drinks! - Although probably to be expected, there was no housekeeping during our stay. This meant that consumables such as the aforementioned toilet paper and the tea/coffee could not be restocked. - The decor of the room was interesting. Perhaps it’s just me, but a pastel blue feature wall opposite dark green curtains was not working for me! - A lot of the items in the room were needlessly complicated to work, such as the shower and the hob. No information was left on how to work these. I’ll share the rest on Google!

The hotel room was incredible with high ceilings and very generous space. Very easy to check-in with the code sent on the day by the hotel. The only negative was the cleaning of the room. It was rather dusty and could do with a deep clean. Overall, really enjoyed our stay.

Very little communication from the owners. The room we got wasnt the room pictured in the photos when booked. Once inside its clear the word luxury had been misused. Fixtures and fittings seemed a bit scruffy, the shower pannels in the bathroom are hanging by a thread. Im sure water will be leaking downstairs. The shower mixer valve itself needs repairing as the handle is about to come off. The water.is nowhere near hot (had to boil the kettle to do the dishes. The fire alarm went off around 7pm one night, had to call a mobile number to get hold of someone , only for them to then send out 2 fire engines to turn it off. To top it off, i saw 2 mice in the property during our stay

Lovely old building; poor rooms.
Pictures do not represent standard room which is very small. Building is beautiful but room not great. Cramped; lovely bathroom but shower and radiator didn’t work properly. Small cups, no spoons for coffee making and supplies had obviously been there for some time as sugar was all hard inside packets. TV kept freezing and wardrobe was very dangerous - cheap diy thing that wasn’t fastened to wall and obstructed the only two free electric sockets in the room. Security door with pad entry was frequently open as ‘self close’ didn’t work. Overall rather disappointing.
