Amazing Owners Make for an Amazing Stay

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Owners, comfort and location
Cons: nothing
Location: A very convenient location - just about a 30 minute walk to the centre of Edinburgh and there are many convenient pubs in the area as well.
We had a wonderful time staying at Bield BnB in June 2014. Ken and Linda were funny, warm and extremely willing to ensure our stay was the best. A short walk to the centre of Edinburgh, it's very conveniently located. The breakfast was amazing, both the continental and hot Scottish breakfast. If we return to Edinburgh, we'd stay at Bield without hesitation. Thank you Linda and Ken for the belly laughs and wonderful hospitality!

Practical but staff bit unfriendly

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Clean, convienient.
Cons: Warmth of owners to tired guests
We were told what to do and where to go abruptly. Instructions on all the walls, and all a bit bossy

I'm sorry these guests felt this way however as I don't know who they are I can't really respond exactly to their comments.. There are two messages on the walls...Please close the doors quietly so not to disturb other guests and ..Out going guests have until 10.30am to vacate their rooms. They are for the benefit of other resident guests and also a common courtesy I would have thought. We have a small private parking area and sometimes guests are asked on arrival to park in a certain area so as not to give problems to other guests who may also wish to park.

Room was a good size and king-bed was comfortable. Also, shower was very nice. Morning breakfast was delicious. Owner was a extremely worried about people making too much noise at night, so if you plan to stay up past 10pm, you may find yourself uncomfortably worried about upsetting the owner.

What was said to this guest was actually as follows "Please remember that other guest rooms are situated directly below you so no partying and try not to jump up and down on the floor as the other guests will be disturbed" It was said in a light hearted manner

Comfortable and Convenient

Posted Sep 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our 2 week stay in the UK began with 3 nights in Edinburgh at the Bield B & B. Ken and Linda are gracious and helpful hosts, and provided the best hot cooked breakfasts we enjoyed during our entire stay. Located in a quiet and convenient neighborhood, you can catch a bus just steps from the front door to get you downtown in a few minutes, and walking to Princes Street or the castle will take you just a few more minutes.

Well positioned for City

Posted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: The welcoming attitude of the owners
Cons: An observation was that we could not find the Fire Exit signs or inside opening door. Only way out was with a key.
Location: Very convenient location for City whilst also being able to park the car conveniently & safely
Welcoming and strong on meeting our needs and letting us know useful bits of information. Excellent hotel for our purpose which was a bit of City and also visiting Open Golf.
