“Very nice yet again.”

Very nice hotel as always when I stay here. Staff are extremely polite and adapt to your needs. I only gave it a 4 out of 5 for cleanliness because I did find two items that had been left behind by previous occupants (namely an ear plug wrapper and an odd sock!) but never mind. Can't complain as it's usually one of the last hotels to get full up during the festival...possibly something to do with the price tag. Although I do love this hotel, I would only stay here as a treat - the two Apex hotels on Grassmarket are just to the same standard and slightly cheaper.

“Really nice hotel”

All of the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The pool and spa (with a sauna and steam rooms) was slightly difficult to get to; but, was in good condition and welcome after a long day walking around Edinburgh. The food was quite good and resonably priced.

“A Great Stay”

We had a wonderful time at the Caledonian. The rooms are nice with high ceilings and good lighting. The bathrooms are nice and big and the towels are amazing for hotel towels. The staff is very professional and accomadating. There was a large group staying at the hotel with older children that pretty much took over the lobby area. They also brought in their own food which seemed rather presumptious but the staff handled all of this with grace. The location makes it ideal for walking and public transportation. One of the Caledonian employees was considered the expert on the local buses and indeed he was! He could tell us which bus to take and where to catch it without hesitating. He got us to Glasgow and Rosslyn Chapel without a problem. I will be going back to the Caldonian for certain.

“Good Central Hotel”

We had a brief stay during the Fringe Festival in August 2007. The hotel was fine and what you would expect from a Hilton.

“Ideal location”

Excellent hotel and the location could not have been better. The atmosphere from the surrounding bars was smashing and the Christmas decs were fab. Would highly recommend this hotel. Wine a little expensive so be careful what you order! Would definately go back again

“One of Edinburgh's Best Hotels”

The Caledonian is one of Edinburgh's best hotels. It is in a great location, at the foot of the hill below the castle and at one end of Prince's St., a key shopping and dining area. It is an easy walk to the Waverly Train Station, the Scott Memorial, the National Gallery, and many other sights. If price is no object this is the place to stay.

“Amazing service”

This was booked during an expedia sale. we paid a very small price for this exquisid property including bbreakfast. The service we received from the concierge "Malcom" was beyond reproach.. He guided us by phone to the hotel when we were lost in the city of Einburgh, found parking for us in their carpark even though it was already full and provided us with a wealth of advice and information. We booked a standard double room and were astouned when we entered the room and were looking straight onto the castle through our window. Fantastic stay all round.

“Excellent Location, would love to go back.”

The location of the hotel is excellent right on princes street and close to the golden mile. The hotel are really friendly and helpful and check in and out service was excellent. We had bed and breakfast which was great and had loads of choice. Our room was on the top floor with a fantastic view of Edinburgh Castle, I would love to go back to this hotel.
