Excellent city-centre locationPosted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Convenient, friendly, great views (breakfast room)
Cons: No bath mat when you step out of the shower
Location: Between Princes St and George St, couldn't be better. National gallery, RSA, shops, Assembly Rooms, pubs, restaurants. Near train stations and buses
Everything fine despite lots of stairs. Room small but had everything necessary. Friendly and helpful reception. The breakfast wasn't wonderful but good enough. Friendly staff and views of Castle and over to Fife. I liked being on the top floor.

Prime location, great bang for your buckPosted Jan 4, 2015
Pros: The room was really nice and clean and new. The location was spot on. The price was great.
Cons: Some people complained about the stairs but I had no problem with this - new to expect no lift and the stairs aren't awkward or difficult at all.
Location: Castle is right next door. Right off the main strip, whats not to do really.
Absolutely loved the location, right opposite the castle, walking distance from the Edinburgh Waverly. Beautiful price for a perfect location and a great room.

Castle veiw?Posted Dec 19, 2014 on Hotels
The name "Castle view guest house" is misleading for a start. You can get a slight veiw of the castle from maybe 2 windows in the whole guest house. We paid for 2 nights including breakfast, we had a very small breakfast on the lst morning, it was that cramped that we had people having to push their behinds against the table to squeeze past. Not nice at breakfast. We didn't bother the next day. We had a decent breakfast at the Standing Order pub just up the road. The bloke that was on the early shift at reception needs lessons in smiling and being friendly? Definitely not a hotel if you are not reasonably fit. We were on the 6th floor and no lifts. The actual room however was really nice but no veiw and a bed that creaked so badly, it woke me everytime my wife moved.

Central, clean, friendly Edinburgh hotel.Posted Nov 22, 2014 on Hotels
Castleview Guest House is a nice little hotel in the centre of Edinburgh. Checking-in was quick and easy. Room was small, but spotless and well appointed. Pre-ordering an early breakfast was not a problem. Room price of £39 was very reasonable.

Greit, sentralt og billig hotell.Posted Nov 18, 2014 on Hotels
