Our hosts, Catherine and Stuart, congenial, charming, and gracious, were extremely helpful and accommodating -- helpful in providing practical information about transportation and sites; accommodating in ensuring that our visit was comfortable. The B & B, actually the family home (built in 1881) in which Catherine herself grew up, has been lovingly refurbished to accent the elegance of earlier ages yet with the comforts of modern times, such as unobtrusive flat-screen televisions.

From the moment we drove up the long driveway to Letham House we knew we'd made the right choice for our break. The building itself is beautiful and the inside did not disappoint. Barbara welcomed us warmly and showed us around the lovely public rooms. Our bedroom was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The shower-room was clearly recently renovated to a high standard. On our first night Barbara drove us to a local bistro and arranged a taxi for our return. The second night we ate at a local Indian restaurant, again one of Barbara's recommendations. On Saturday night, however Barbara produced an excellent 3 course dinner which we ate in the pleasant company of our fellow guests.

As I've never stayed in a B&B before, I was slightly hesitant to book one for our stay in Edinburgh. Having seen fantastic reviews about the Sheridan B&B, I thought I'd give it a go.
The Sheridan is by far, better than any hotel I've stayed at. The room was spacious, clean and really well presented/decorated. The breakfast was all freshly made and tasted really good.
The owner, Rowena, was extremely friendly and helpful and it made our stay one to remember. We definitely want to visit Edinburgh again and will definitely stay here again!

We arrived in shocking weather to be warmly greeted with a cup of tea and shortbread which was an excellent start.
Our room was beautiful..and so was the guest lounge and the dining room.
Our hosts were delightful..lots of little extras which made our stay even more special.
This Bed and Breakfast is out in the country which also makes it quiet, peaceful and once the weather improved has fabulous scenery..we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and wished we could have stayed longer than the one night.
I have no hesitation in recommending it to others....and it was all capped off with a delicious breakfast.

My Husband and I were taking my parents on a whirlwind visit to Scotland traveling from the Midlands and this was a brilliant place to stay after our first leg of the journey. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were lovely and we also stayed there for dinner which was delicious. I would highly recommend. We headed into Edinburgh the next day and the journey only took 40 minutes to Royal Brittania.

Glenavon House is a real gem which has been exquisitley developed by the current owners. Large tastefully furnished rooms provide great places to relax and enjoy the excellent service provided by the staff and owners. Breakfast was a real delight, our only disappointment was that we had only booked one nights accommodation. Rarely have we stayed in such spacious accommodation and hopefully we will be able to return in the near future.
