Pros: Close to downtown Edinburgh.
Cons: It was just a little too small. Bath was a nice touch though.
Location: I was working, but the Castle is not too far away, Haymarket railway station basically across the street.

Better than a hotelPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: Location, price, size of room.
Cons: Needs refurbishment, but everything is clean and functional.
Location: 3 minutes walk from the EICC.
Fountain Court Apartments have several locations in this area. The Morrison Street ones are definitely shabbier than the others, and are now in need of refurbishment. However, this is only surface deep. What I got for my money (about half the price of hotels I was looking at) was a good sized bedroom with a comfortable bed, a huge living room with a serviceable kitchen and dining table, and a separate bathroom. It also had a washer/dryer. This last is an incredible saving in itself if you're staying long enough to have to wash clothes: hotel laundry rates are criminal.

Great accomadation. Pity about the check in time being so late. Will prob not stay again because of this reason. Checkin time is 3. We landed at 11 am. Disappointed

Nice apartment - not bad value for sharing.Posted Aug 19, 2013
Pros: Lots of space.
Cons: Slightly out of the centre of town.
Location: Close to Haymarket station and walkable (although not quickly) from the city centre.
Was only there one night but more than catered for my needs and would've been great for a longer stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth and easy. Slight surprise was needing to leave an imprint of my credit card in case of damage, although I didn't mind doing so (just could have been forewarned).

Great for an affordable stayPosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very spacious apartment. A lot quieter than my home in London. Great value for the price.

Good proximity to just about everything.Posted Jul 29, 2013
Location: The Royal Mile, Princes Street, Dean Village, Old Town, New Town, train stations and bus stops are all about 20 minutes or less walking.
The room was nice, overall, but after the first few days things kind of started falling apart on us. Our room was missing a frying pan, so it took a few days to receive one. The boiler stopped working correctly, so anytime we wanted hot water we had to restart it ourselves. We also had a problem figuring out the washer/dryer and the staff wasn't entirely helpful. After our clothes sat in wet water (the drying cycle was the problem) for a couple of days, they fetched our clothes and dried them in their industrial dryer. So, the room was ok, except for the hiccups.

Good value, all you need available.Posted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: Lots of very practical things available, as in description. Tourist info provided also great and very thorough, including discounts on local cafes etc
Cons: Girlfriend did not like pillows. I thought they were good, but hard pillows not to everyone's liking! Also not many plates etc.
Location: Reasonable enough, near city centre and major railway station, but not a particularly nice area itself.
Very pleased overall. Good value for near the city centre, very spacious with good facilities overall, washing machine, dishwasher, etc provided which were of great help for the visit, with washing tablets etc provided for these- a small thing, however something which was extremely useful and helpful for us. Comfortable bed (although my girlfriend complained the pillows weren't good, while I liked them), sofas, seats, TV, microwave; really provides a lot of the services you need for getting on with your break- nearby cafe for breakfast and lunch, parking, whatever that lets you just get on with whatever it is you want to do in the city. Also should mention the staff were very friendly, helpful and happily explained things.
