A short break in the City.Posted Dec 18, 2014
Stayed here with my Wife and must admit that it was the perfect choice. We go away for short breaks quite a lot and this is up there at the top. Got a great deal with Expedia and would happily go back again. Rooms were massive and staff friendly. Thanks.

Great location just off Royal MilePosted Dec 16, 2014
Location: It is located just off the Royal Mile, a short walk from Edinburgh Castle (good views) and with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby.
We were happy with everything about this hotel. It was easy to reach from Princes St tram stop or Waverley station (suggest taking the road and not the steep steps if coming from this direction). Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and bed so comfortable didn't want to get up!

Perfectly SituatedPosted Dec 6, 2014
Quiet and cozy. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but not worth complaining about. Excellent service. Definitely would stay again!

Great location!Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: The location is very good, just off the Royal Mile and a short walk to Waverly Station and Princes Street.
Cons: Breakfast was quite unimpressive and hardly worth 14 pounds. I did receive a discounted rate of 10 pounds, which was better - but still not worth it.
Location: The walk to Edinburgh Castle is quick and well worth it. Mercat Tours does a lovely "ghosts and ghouls tour". I recommend Gordon's Italian for dinner
My room at Fraser Suites was on the 5th floor and very lovely. It overlooked St. Giles Street and had an incredible view of the Princes Street area, which was hosting the Christmas Markets. My bed was comfortable, and the shower/tub had a wonderful rainfall shower head. The fridge was stocked daily with bottled water, and tea and shortbread were left in my room each of the five days of my stay. I ventured to the bottom floor of the hotel the last night of my stay and was surprised at the difference in quality of the lower floors. Floors 1 and 2 were very worn, with stained carpets, scuffed walls, and a musty, mildew smell. I should note that check-in and reception is on floor 3, and that floors 1 and 2 are below street level. This could be the reason for the mold odor. I strongly suggest that you request a room on floor 3 or higher.

Overpriced and lazyPosted Nov 26, 2014
The stay here was ok, central location. Maid was lazy, they didn't give us shower caps, didn't clean sinks, didn't fill napkin box, didn't change sheets, gave us RIPPED towels, the list goes on! They also wee suppose to give us a hotel room with a view and instead we got one facing a construction building. They also charged me 12 dollars for LOCAL CALLS! Oh and to top it off.. When we first arrived the lady gave us a room that was already occupied so we walked in on a half naked man. I think that sums up our stay at Fraser...

Good location but not what I expected...Posted Nov 15, 2014
Perfect location for anyone wanting to see Edinburgh, nicely decorated room and a beautiful bathroom, however although clean enough there was several bit missed/marks/dust on things and the standard rooms vary greatly in size, I was just unlucky to receive the smallest one available, put a bit of a downer on it knowing I'd paid for a room I thought I'd get but it's pot luck that I might end up with something a bit smaller.... Nice hotel and good service in general just took the shine off it for me...
