Hard to beat the location -- right off the Royal Mile and within a few hundred steps of St. Giles Cathedral and a parade of street musicians, off-beat performance art buskers and a sea of fellow tourists from around the world. Walk just a block further, and the tourist traps fade for a more authentic Edinburgh experience. I asked the front desk about a ghost tour. They immediately looked it up on the internet, made the call and handed me the phone so I could book our tickets. No breakfast included, but we were a bit weary of British hotel breakfasts anyway at this point!

Centrally located

Nice hotel on the face of it but..... Cleanliness a problem. Room dusty and cutlery not washed properly. Most disappointingly the hot water wasn't. Temperature of water was only just adequate for s shower but woefully inadequate for a bath. That it seemed could not be improved and we added six kettles of water to each bath to help in this respect. Just not good enough.

Not delivering their core values

Posted Jul 15, 2015
The website made the room Look much bigger , got a suite , in essence it was a travelodge room with a sink and a microwave . There was open packet of chocolate in the welcome pack, when this was raised I was dismissed. The duvet on the bed had a dirty mark on it and the cupboard in the bathroom was hanging off the wall, also the TV didn't work. When I raised all Of these issues with the assistant manger , she did take the breakfast price off the bill , this was s nice gesture but I had paid £400 for two nights ,

Vacation in Edinburgh

Pros: Location was great
Location: Near the Castle and shopping. A lot of restaurants and pubs nearby also. Brewdog was the favorite pub for us.
The hotel was just off the Royal mile so walking to get to the sights was very easy. Staff was helpful and made suggestions when we asked for assistance.

Front desk staff not very attentive on arrival

Posted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: Clean , spacious room with good clean , spacious bathrooms.
Cons: Attentive front desk staff especially to greet and check in guests arriving tired .
Location: Good location - if you like being a touristy , crowded, street .
On arrival front desk staff were taping some video, and we waited for a full 10 mts in front of them before they checked us in. Rooms are good sized, pretty clean with nice bathrooms. Parking is pretty much non existent to even check in - the few spots in front of the hotel are always taken so if you arrive with large suitcases and a car - you have no choice but to park nearly a mile or longer away and lug your suitcases all the way. Rest of the stay the front desk staff were fine but first impression can leave you with a sour feeling. Closeness to the golden mile is touted as a plus - but the golden mile itself is unimpressive- can be dirty, overcrowded, with just low end stores and very touristy - can be disappointing unless you are into these kind of places.

Great location ! One can walk anywhere to sight seeing , you can catch bus easily to airport or Roslin, Highlands, or catch the train which is just quick walk away from hotel . Hotel staff is great , rooms clean, cozy and comfortable . This was my second stay with hotel and I love it and will be returning to stay in the future .
